My
greatest memories of the 20 Grand surround the great David Ruffin. He
was dynamic.
The
night David did this show, also on the bill were the
Miracles; Billy Griffin was the lead singer.
As
far as the club goes, when you went in the front door, you had to go
up about seven stairs; one side was the club, the other side was
a bowling alley and a lot of the artists were always in the bowling
alley, such as Mary
Wilson, Kim Weston, Jimmy Ruffin, Edwin Starr, Four Tops etc.
The
20 Grand like a big neighbourhood bar, but the big difference
was they booked all the Motown acts.
