The 20 Grand Story
Chuck Jackson

Chuck Jackson in the studio

It is only correct that we should feature the guy who was the all time attraction at The 20 Grand.

The plaudit goes to Northern Soul Hero Chuck Jackson.

Chuck had been lured from Wand in New York City to Motown in 1967.

It didn't take him long to get involved at The 20 Grand where he was later hailed as the greatest performer to grace the stage of The Driftwood Lounge.

He performed twice nightly and openly expressed his liking for the club which he claimed was clean and classy. The fact that he out-grossed every act that ever appeared there, speaks volumes for his talents.
