Ralph thanks for verifying the "Gates" thing. I thought I had a false memory or something. I remember meeting Marvin in 1970 and was told by my cousin that he, Marvin, was called "Gates". |

DyvaNaye: Quincy Jones began calling MJ "Smelly" in the recording studio during their first album together "Off The Wall." I believe it refers to how funky (or "smelly") MJ's performance could get in the studio. |

Uptight, as I don't collect 45's, I don't have them, but I've seen in Soul Survivor Shorty Long's discography : TRI-PHI 1006 : Bad Willie / I'll be there " " 1015 : Too smart / I'll be there " " 1021 : Going away / What's the matter With Junior Walker, Shorty Long was one of the most soulful Motown artists, and it's really sad that he died so young ! |
