As I stated in the other thread, I have been in a Jackson Five mood all week and reaquainted myself with alot of their B-Side music...and enjoying those classic sounds throughly. I always loved Jermaine more than Michael, quite frankly, Jermaine seemed to be the balladeer of the bunch...putting out such jams as 'She's Good' and leading such songs with the whole family 'Ill Find A Way'...Jermaine was the MAN! Michael of course was everyones 'cutie pie' and could sing his 'patootie' off...and handled some ballads excellently and comes close with the 'romance' LOL... but the draw for me was Jermaine...He put out 'the jams' for me... The Entire "Come Into My Life" album is still a heart-melter for me... Who is your pick out of these two talented brothers? And what songs were the best ones they recorded to you? |

I liked the hard funk songs Jermaine did like ERUCU... The whole 'Frontiers' LP was full of hard bass sounds too... Wonder B |

I totally agree with you, DyvaNaye. I was a big Jermaine fan from the first time I saw him singing Stand on the Ed Sullivan Show. I especially like Jermaine's leads on I Found That Girl, She's Good, and I'm So Happy, and I always liked his solo albums better than Michael's. His first album, Jermaine, is one that I wore out, and I was so thrilled to get it recently on cd from Japan. I still love that album! Back in the early 70s, my bedroom wall was filled with Jermaine posters and pictures. (In retrospect, I don't understand why Jackie wasn't the sex symbol -- he was so fine! He may have been considered too old for us teeny-boppers, but he was no older than David Cassidy or Bobby Sherman.) But Jermaine had The Voice. For me, it was never the same when the Jacksons left Motown. I liked the Epic-era Jacksons okay, but always felt they were really missing something without Jermaine. One of my friends remembers going to a J5 concert shortly after Jermaine married Hazel Gordy, and she said a girl behind her screamed at Jermaine the whole time, cussing him out for getting married. I think a lot of us felt that way... it should have been me!

I liked Michael, but Jermaine was my favorite. Suave, cool, and cute (look at the JERMAINE album inside cover)! He jammed on the bass! I was a Jackson fan from the 80s as I was real young when the J5 was huge, but Jermaine too me always stood out. Wonder B...you must be a bass player! |

"Lets Get Serious" was nice too, but Michael really sounded good on "She's Out Of My Life" |

Jermaine is the only one of the Jacksons I ever met(met him at the VIP Grand Opening Party for Motown Cafe at Universal Studios Orlando) & he was genuinely nice.I think he was a very big part of the J5's success. |

Count, that song was issued on the Steeltown label in about 1971, and for years was rumored to be recorded by the Jackson 5 under the name Ripples and Waves Plus Michael, but in a recent lawsuit, Steeltown owner Gordon Keith claimed it wasn't the Jackson 5 at all, but another Gary-area kid group.

I have to say i have loved the sylvers, since who knows when, even though they were not mentioned in this thread, will we ever discuss them again? Their harmony was so beautiful. |
