Ok what does it mean when it says that your account is suspended? Is that permanent or what? I did make a statement on the old Forum about 'weeding out' certain members, and it was denied and I was shot down for making that statement...so now my question is what's going on? I don't want to jump to conclusions, but... shouldn't someone just straight out tell these Folks flat out, that they are not welcome on this new forum for whatever reason or that it's taking longer than expected or whatever is the case? I think that would be the Adult thing to do, if it has to be so. I think we all really enjoyed eachother, even after the disagreement dust was blown away, it was all ok again. Also, I don't think another Forum member should suggest the banning of other members either. If certain members are not welcomed to the New Forum, the person in charge of the forum should be the one to make that decision and at least tell the unwelcomed member the truth straight up. This is not a good start y'all.... We're all adults here...and if it starts off bad, it will surely end up the same way...AGAIN, and it's just because you don't like the way someone presented an opinion...this aint right. To weed out all of the riff-raff that was prevalent in the old forum, maybe we need to enact our version of the Patriot Act (a law enforcement tool created by the Bush admin. to use high-level surveillance and code-cracking techniques to catch would-be terrorists from plotting and attacking America and the world) for the new forum, but without all of the heavy-handed overstepping-the-bounds-of-civ il-liberties-type of tactics that the government uses anyways. As the people whom we're trying to help absolutely hate us & will turn on us within the next 5-10 years, I have an idea for George. How about George pouring the same money that he's pouring into Iraq, into America? Rather than saving Iraq, how about saving America? Novel idea, isn't it? Instead of outsourcing jobs, downsizing jobs due to corporate greed, resisting raising the minimum wage (which is below poverty level), attacking unionized jobs & workers, trying to take away overtime for workers & generally misleading the public about his true intent for declaring war on a country that had nothing to do with 911, how about saving America for those of us who are not rich??? 98% of us are sweating blood, not to live, but merely to survive. Meanwhile, 2% dictate policy & try to accumulate as much wealth for themselves as possible, while refusing to share it with their workers. Meanwhile, most of us are 2 paychecks away from homelessness, which is barely affordable these days. Our kids are dying & for what, for what??? There were three key words that he spoke in his speech the other night. The key words were "PROTECT OUR INTERESTS"! Our interests indeed!! I thought that the idea was to get the folks responsible for the tragedy of that horrible day known as 911. Somehow, that became a launching pad to go after Iraq, even though they had nothing to do with 911. He stated that he had bad information. Well, if the information was wrong, then surely, any thinking person would think that declaring war was wrong. After all, it was based on erroneous information. You would think that an apology & immediate withdrawal would be in order, wouldn't you? Why should our kids be sent to a hostile foreign land to die because of "bad information"? Oh yes, I forgot that we must secure their freedom & rebuild their land. And by the way, the Vice President just happens to have friends who are in the "rebuilding" business & will rebuild Iraq. By the way, I pay taxes, work every day & I'm not free to smoke a cigarette anywhere on my job. I can't smoke at a club, bar or restaurant. However, I am free to pay taxes on cigarettes, taxes that are $3 higher than any other state in the USA. So George wants to save Iraq? Who's going to save us. At the rate that things are going regarding the job market, housing, inflation, etc, WE are 3 to 5 years away from BECOMING Iraq. Houston, Washington, we have a problem! Hey Juice, i kan dig what your sayin about the kut backs and overtime thing as i'am a kasualty in the overtime kut back thing.I was to be in N.Y. for the New York International auto show, the bean kounters said work 12 hours, get paid for 18, no way man, i've been used to work 12 hrs. get paid for 24 hrs. i'am not giving in to their or G.B. bull---t.We put our lives into jepordy everytime we get on an airbus flying all over the kountry to do auto shows and now kut back,no way man, i'll just let them suffer and lose out on the $'s and let them find someone who might be a suck up to them, but no idea of what we or i do to make them look good, and they rake in the bucks.Then they kry about taking money out our our own city of DETROIT to put on the 40 years of the MUSTANG (RUSTANG) in NASHVILLE TENN. Good afternoon all! Folks, this is not a "shorty", this is a "longy". If long posts bother you, pass me by. If you do, ya might just miss something. Hi Lady M, as I remember, the economy at the start of the 70s was ok. Things got a bit funky around the Watergate period, with the oil embargo & all of that. Remember the sugar rationing & the "damaged" crops in Brazil that raised prices for both of those products, that somehow never went back to their normal prices even though there was a surplus of both? Count, I'm sorry to hear about your situation & ther are far too many stories like yours. That's how "patriotic" our leaders are toward their own citizens. Our Govt has sympathy & wax poetic about the plight of everyone but Americans. There's no sympathy for us, no concern for us. Why is it that if you're an elderly homeowner & you happen to become ill, you'll be forced to sell your home in order to pay the bill for your hospital stay??? Why are many sickly seniors with fixed incomes, forced to choose between paying their essential bills & food, or their equally necessary & extremely high priced medicines??? Why have the benefits for our Veterans shrunk, leaving them with less services, after serving their country? Why is it that the Vietnam veterans have STILL not gotten their due respect for their services rendered. The Vietnam War is very much like this current one. Many of our friends & family members were wounded, scarred & even died in a war that wasn't our fight; a war that technically still going on, as there was never an official ending of it. Why have these warriors been traditionally treated as second rate? What about the soldiers of George's daddy's Desert Storm? What about the way our "patriotic" Govt denied things such as: friendly fire killing our troops or Agent Orange? Remember, Agent Orange was all in the minds of the soldiers, their symptoms were imaginary. Men & women who lived THOUSANDS of miles apart reported the same symptoms, only to be told that there was no link to Agent Orange. Birth defects, respiratory illnesses, all categorically denied by the powers that be. That was done to good, patriotic AMERICANS. Some way to repay them, dont'cha think? Why is it that many of these "patriotic" companies feel that paying good, stong American workers $7 an hour to be, too much money to pay. Meanwhile, not one of them thinks that their $5-$10 million dollar bonus is too much. How do American companies, downsize by the tens of thousands, outsource jobs & still pay themselves millions in bonuses??? Even more amazingly, our Govt says nothing about it, Free Enterprise you know. As far as celebrating the automobile in Tennessee, that speaks for itself & is disgusting. By the way, after George's speech where he insisted that the job market was strong; the very next day, the papers reported that there was a huge spike in new unemployment applications. Timing is everything, isn't it. Lynn, you are correct. What we get is a bunch of catch phrases & BS. Remember "Just Say No"?Politics does indeed make strange fellows. I find it quite fitting that the enemy of today is the same group of people that we tried to help way back in 1979. I also find it quite interesting that they haven't used even ONE WMD against our troops yet. Surely, any thinking person would think that if they had these WMD, that they'd use them. These people don't like us, they're suspicious of us, in fact they hate us. I'm sure that if they were rich in let's say Aluminum, that George would still seek to help them, as we have no ulterior motives in Iraq other than to free them. Lynn, as far as saving other countries is concerned, why is it that a country such as Haiti isn't in need of freedom from tyranny bas well? I guess that we have enough sugar already, so, who cares? It is the things that I've posted above that makes our country so hated. The entire world sees the half-truths, greed & arrogance & they resent it. Remember, at the start of this "war", except for a few, the entire world was against it. George & Mr Blair stood side by side & declared that it would be done, regardless of opposition. Then, after nearly a year passed, they stated that they need assistance from nations that were in opposition to his actions from day one. He thumbed his nose at the whole world & now, he needs their help???? Well, sure, ok. Then, he has the nerve to make a "funny" skit about looking for WMDs in his office, while our kids are dying. Real sensitive, wasn't it. Then if an American speaks the truth about all of this,they're "unpatriotic". The ramifications of this declaration of war is going to be felt here for decades to come. We haven't seen anything yet. Remember how Rome burned while Nero fiddled? Well, most American people are Nero. Either these politicians are hypnotists, or there is truly something being put in our drinking water. We're going to hell in a handbasket & what are most people doing??? Watching Survivor, Fear Factor & Friends...tra la la la la. Our country, our lives, our futures will never be the same again, however, not to worry....The Apprentice will be back for another season & by the way, the scourge of downloading music will be totally defeated, making our country safe for all. We may not have jobs, or be able to afford to pay rent but, damnit, our music will be safe. Time to get off the soapbox. Maybe I'll become a politician someday. Nah, someone will dig up the fact that I threw a spitball in class when I was in the third grade. That would cause a major scandal & ruin my candidacy. All that I know is that if someone had killed my loved ones, I would have moved heaven & earth to get them. Getting them would have been my number 1 priority. I wouldn't have settled for someone far removed from the situation. I didn't want Saddam, I wanted those responsible for 911.
