These two were inspired by the movies' titles: "Send Me No Flowers" and "Ask Any Girl", both by Holland-Dozier-Holland. |

Not soul, but T.G. Sheppard had a novelty hit (with Clint Eastwood helping out) entitled "Make My Day", based on Clint's famous line from the Dirty Harry movies. He also throws in some of the other dialogue from those films as well near the end of the song ("No trial...no reports to file", "Do ya feel lucky, punk?"). Best, Mark Mark |

Well this one is NOT soul but I just have to mention "Robert De Niro's Waiting" by Bananarama! "Dance like Fred Astaire" by Delegation is probably better suited for this thread, methinks. |

Hey DyvaNaye! (exclamation point) lol Shawn Brown aka / (Rappin' Duke) was a huge fan of John Wayne, so as a tribute, he did an imitation of him. I do remember that Kleer song "License To Dream". Great cut! Lata' Mike Boone (Chancellor of Soul) chancellorofsoul.com |

Eli...that would be the TERMINATOR with Arnold Schwartznegger....good call though... but there was a song called 'Make My Day' that took Clint Eastwoods words...I forgot the artist....80's dance tune also 'Pump up The Jam' that 90's house mix took 'Make My Day'as a lyric.
