Hey Lady Mystique! I'm happy to hear that you enjoy Ali Ollie Woodson's solo debut. It's new if you never heared the album before ;-) Ali Olie is such an amazing singer! I enjoyed working with him and putting together this project. An experience which I will never forget. Like Kdubya suggested, give 'Deeper Love' another spin (long intro) but what a tune! Pure soul, sung from his heart!! Let me see if I can find some pictures... Andreas Hellingh www.thesoulofamsterdam.com

Ali Ollie Woodson has more talents then sing alone!! While in Amsterdam, Holland we went to this Jazz club, after a few drinks... Ali stood up, went on stage, pushed a side the musician who played conga's (that's the guy on your right hand) and after playing for proxy 30 minutes NON-STOP he received a standing ovation!!

Hi Eli, I did not produce the album, i'm credited as the A&R (at the end I did much more but it was a great learning experience). I liased between Ali Ollie, the producers; Preston Glass, Al McKay (of Earth Wind & Fire), the gospel producer, Sanchez Harley and Expansion Records. The project took a few years to accomplish. Ali Ollie had recorded so many demo's over the years, unfortunatly we could not use (some) of the songs that we wanted for this project because Ali Ollie did not own the copyrights - and the copyright owners/producers could not be located or we're simply not interested. I can tell you a story or two but you are well aware what goes on in the music industry. But we love it ;-) :-) Let see if I can find some more pics ;-) |

Please forward your address details and I will send you a promo copy. E: andreas1@chello.nl I appologize before hand but I only have a few promo's, perhaps i'm able to make somebody else happy another time. Peace! Andreas |

Just thought I'd jump back in here for a minute. I've had the pleasure of meeting Ali Woodson several years ago backkstage after a performance with the Tempts and he was the one of the most graicious Tempts I have ever met. Funny thing they say the cream always rises to the top and in his case he like David and Dennis before him was the natural leader of The Temptations. He walked, talked, acted and sang like a Temptation. I'm sure ya'll know what I mean. In fact as a long time Tempt fan, Ali was a perfect example of having the ability to sing like a cloned Dennis/David. A fantastic talent and true gentleman. Some folks are always argueing about What the Temptations did wrong........I tend to look at what they did right.....Ali Woodson was one of the best decisions the Temptations ever made......... period. I think that he did some of his best vocal work along with Theo Peoples on the album For Lovers Only. Oh yeah Andreas is so right "not only can he sing but he can play as good as he wants" (sorry Archie Bell) he is an acommplished keyboardist & songwriter. More power to you Mr. Woodson. Kdubya |

Kdubya, I fully agree with you on the Temp vibe! Ali Ollie is also a fighter!! There are so many different stories why he left the Temps. I don't think many people knew that Ali Ollie suffered from C in his throat!! He went to see many different doctors/specialists to find a cure; same diagnose whom ever he spoke. A friend suggested him to drink thee with orbs (I hope I spelled that correctly) in it. After a few months he was cured and his voice sounded better then ever! God works in mysterious ways! Anyway, here's the man...holding a knife - he was about to cut his road manager in pieces, the poor guy f*cked up but it was all FUN. Ali Ollie is indeed a gentleman, at all times!

I never asked Richard though he told me he was working on some other projects. When I met with the guys I promissed myself not to bore them with boaring questions :-)) I also do radio (among others) and I didn't even bother to do some interviews for my radio-show. I can tell you that they appreciated the time off (so to speak). Don't get me wrong, these guys eat, sleep on stage and love their fans to death but it's nice to be yourself from time to time (walk around in jeans without having to spend 2 hours infront of a mirror, put on a smiling face although you might not feel happy, etc). I'm possitive you know what I mean. Getting back to Richard... I must admit that he was looking very good and laughing all the time. The Temps (in whatever formation) are all around TOP geezers! They bring a lot of joy throughout the world!! Ali Ollie Woodson and his Temptations ;-)
