I hired ol' Sideburn as an intern a couple years back, and he has continued to turn out fine work as a freelancer. This is one of his best efforts: http://www.metrotimes.com/edit orial/story.asp?id=6258 |

thank you Mr. Roger Hood for saving it, thanks sideburn for writing about it and best wishes to the staff at USS for sucess. yes United was Detroit's 1st recording studio, before then if you wanted to record something you had to go to radio station that provided that service. because of the high ceiling in studio A it was always said that United was one of the 3 best studios in the US to record strings at ,the other 2 being RCA's New York studio and Universal in Chicago, the other 2 are now dead and gone, and for a time it looked like United would join them, but thanks to the vison of Mr. Roger Hood this legardary studio and a real piece of music history has been saved, and this is not only Detroit's history but the world's as well. |
