It's been 10 years since I even touched my guitar or tryed to blow into my trombone but here it goes! Seems like the new owners of the Pier 500 in Wyandotte (on Biddle) found some old bar tabs I made 30 years ago when the band and I worked there 6 nights a week... for 10 years. What a gig! Every night was a party! Well.. we'll going to party there one more time! ONE NIGHT ONLY! Sunday, May 23rd at 8pm Before that, we'll be on the Mitch Albom Show, Friday, May 21, WJR, 3to6pm. Plus, the band and I will be on WJBK TV 2
MORNING NEWS on Saturday, May 22nd, 9:45AM.
Our new CD is called, "George Young and the Youngsters... Live at the Pier 500! The 22 songs from the 40's thru 70's are from actual tape recordings I found in my attic.
While I was at it, I also put together a VHS video of our TV appearances from 1960's to 2004.
Both will be available on May 23rd.

The Pier 500 is located on Biddle avenue on the beautiful shores of the Detroit River in sunny and friendly, Wyandotte... Southfield (south) to where it ends at the river.. turn right on Biddle..down a half mile on the left. Come by car or boat! The owner said.. if we do good with the reunion...he's have us back again 30 years from now. The Youngsters: Jay Valle (organ), Nick Palise (sax) and Vince Reno (Drums). Starts at 8pm until ?

George,
I'd give ANYTHING to be there! I urge all who are in the Detroit area to go see this act. I'm sure it will be a wonderful night of classic George Young entertainment.

George, maybe I'll be able to catch the next one 30 years from now.

Thanks Millie.. first time I never seen that "Elvis" pic of me from the reunion show. I couldn't find my "real" Elvis Gold Outfit that I originally used to wear in that act. I think, I'm the only guy who ever did an Elvis comedy take-off.. but, I first first that act together so I could do routine for Elvis when I was going out to the Hilton in Las Vegas to visit him. (we've been close friends since our days in the Army together in Germany). Well, I never got the opportunity to do it for him.. it was too late. And when he died, I was so sadded that I couldn't do that Elvis routine until six months later. But, I knew how much he loved to laugh and I'm sure that he would have loved to see me do it for him.
Note: Yes, I'm getting a new Elvis outfit made up.. just in case.
Thanks again Millie.. anybody else have any strange pics of me I havn't seen before. (This could be fun!)
