Does the Andantes name appear on the record this way? Who wrote and who produced this song? What was the A side, and who wrote and produced that? |

The Andantes' name appears as: "Vocal accompaniment Andantes". George Fowler produced both sides and wrote both songs (Sidney ossman was the other writer on "Just Be Yourself". The other side titled: "I Can't Help It, I Gotta Dance". It is often difficult to tell which side was the "A side" on records that weren't promoted; but I believe "Just Be Yourself" was meant to be the A side. Its master number is 2 lower than the flip. Of course, many times the first number was NOT indicative of the plug side. To my taste, both sides are fairly weak for a Motown record of that period. |

I would say it was likely released in late 1963. It was Gordy's release just after "Farewell My Love", by The Temptations. |

I like "Just Be Yourself." A real nice catchy tune to me. However, I agree with you when it comes to the other tunes done on her. Thanks for the info! |
