Hope it's okay to start a thread on Detroiter and ultimate diva Anita Baker!! I had the blessed opportunity to see her live in concert in Minneapolis on Jan. 2nd, and it was pure love! Talk about rapture, honey! The entire audience - black, white, brown, gay, straight - was like a great big family reunion! The only thing we needed to complete that would have been to make it a potluck and pass around some soulful food while swaying to the love songs. I was even lucky enough to get my original Beverly Glen Japanese CD pressing of "The Songstress" autographed by Anita! (The security guard who helped me out with that got a big wet smooch from "B.Y.") :o) I can hardly wait for her debut Blue Note CD to hit the shelves. Actually, it has been recorded for nearly a year now, so it will feel like getting a disc of tracks from the vaults LOL.
