Hey SDF, If there is one thing I like to do, it's DANCE! I come from a family of mover and shakers, my Mother being the Queen Rug Cutter of the immediate family, and I always love watching her jitterbug and swing dance all over the place...and she still does. Let';s do this SDF: Name your favorite dance, the era or year it's from and the song(s) that went with it. This may have been done already, but 'Let's do it again'. My favs: The Slop - late 60's - Any James Brown song The Philly Dog - mid to late 60's - Walking the Dog - Rufus Thomas Karate Boo Ga Loo - late 60's - Jerry O more later....... |

Hi again Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose! (and also Sister DyvaNaye) In the anual popular party celebration of my neighborhood, when I aged around 9-10 years old, I danced with Jessie Green's "Nice & Slow"... Performed live by a band from my hometown called Els Intrpids ("The Intrepids"!!, as i knows, another american sixties group). In the high school, at the St. Thomas cellebration when I aged betwen 13-17 years old, played on vynil all the dance hits numbers of this era (1975-1978). I remember that I likes to dance with the sintony of "La Vuelta Ciclista a Espaa'77" (the bycicle competition) wich was "September" by EW & F. Also with "Trammps Disco Theme" and a tune by a european disco act called Supermax. Slow also! (what chance for touching the girls! and with some luck, the chance to make a kiss and... something more). I danced slow with "If You Leave Me Now" (Chicago), "Me & Ms. Jones" (Billy Paul), "Float One" (Floaters), italian ballads and many others. After was when in my university years i worked as barman in a disco and I see dancing the other people, but i can't dance it! (BTW, practically all the music played here was, IMHO, very bad). As says Leon Huff, Your Body Won't Move, If You Can't Feel The Groove Peace And Soul Food |

Hey, DyvaNaye, You're so sympathic! Many times, principally in the begining when i started to posting in SD i salute the folks saying Hello Cornelius Bros. & Sister Rose" (this name resulted sympathic to me from the first time in the 70's). Casually, after many time without use this expression i say it to a very lover of this group as you are. In fact, i also likes all the little material i got from they: the single "Since I Found My Baby" b/w "I Love Music" and "Treat Her Like A Lady" and "Too Late To Turn Back Now", in some compilations by various artists. This last title I got also in a cover version by The Chi-Lites (in the "A Letter To Myself" album) and it's also fantastic. Sadly I never saw one Lp by this group in Spain. BTW, the information i have about their discography in some books, is the Cornelius have only two albums: a untitled Lp and another called " "Big Time Lover". Also in a fascicle of soul I read that in 1996 appears one CD titled "The Story Of Cornelius Brother & Sister Rose" in Emi's Heart & Soul serie. Peace & Soul Food! |
