When WKTU (103.5 FM) throws its annual disco ball, it goes straight back to its dance roots, and tonight's Disco Ball 3 at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, 7 and midnight, continues the tradition. J.T. Taylor of Kool and the Gang is on the bill with Laura Branigan, Thelma Houston, Loleatta Holloway, the Trammps, the Blue Notes, France Joli, the Sugar Hill Gang, Candi Staton and Martha Wash of the Weather Girls. Not to mention Sherman Hemsley of "The Jeffersons" and Gary Coleman.

WOW! lovely pix!and mentioning the Lovely Yvonne Fair ! you must start a thread on her and share more! The James Brown days, Lady Sings The Blues cameo,And "IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME"( the anvil classic lipsynched by RUBY RIMMS) and the surfacing of her duet with CHUCK JACKSON (kiss kiss)on that "CELLARFUL OF MOTOWN" ...well they just leave me wanting so much more of the fantastically divine YVONNE FAIR...Chuck aint so bad hisself...and I have all Thelma's 'musical' stuff I believe..but there is so much of it truly.LOVE MASTERPIECE my favorite...Saw her at SWEETWATER's IN MANHATTAN ...great show, lovely memories! |
