Jeffrey Osborn recorded a song, I believe in the late 80's or early 90's...the name of the song is SOWETO (Southwest Town) in South Africa...the song wasn't very popular, but it tugged at your heart with the lyrics, the War sounds of broken glass, screams and gunshots. Is anyone here familiar with this song? and what's the Ex member of LTD, Jeffrey Osborn doing these days? |

I never heard the song, but as I recall, it did quite well on the r&B chart. I think it reached the Top 10. |

Hi ~Medusa~, The song Soweto came out originally on Jeffrey's very good Emotional album in 1986. It was written by Hamish Stuart, Elizabeth Lamers and Frank Musker. It's a quite good funky jam, only I don't like the rock guitar solo in the middle. I see that it hit the # 18 r&b position. Jeffrey's latest album, Music Is Life (on Jay Oz Records), came out last year, but I really didn't like it very much. A couple of nice ballads, but also some hip hop elements and minimalistic, low-budget production. Best regards Heikki |
