Saw very weird English cd in Tower today---all Motown hits except for a few--like Jean Knight's Mr Big Stuff--anyone know about this compilation? It's at least a 2 cd collection.

"Ms. Big Stuff" Jean Knight was a Motown artist? That's the first time that I, for one, ever heard that since that song was released 33 years ago. I wonder who else was with Motown that slipped past me for over three days much less three decades???

I think he was 'excepting' JEAN KNIGHT sir,She was a Stax artist who somehow wound up on a MOTOWN artiste collection. That's what I gathered at least. Probably a bootleg. If it was in Amsterdam, it would definitely be a bootleg. oy!Watch out for all those MARGINAL label recordings guys and gals...when they are from Belgium on that MARGINAL label. not that the one mentioned is on that label...just giving y'all a heads up!I did buy them all! yikes.and a lesson was learned....xo

Yes Ms Knight and a few others on CD with 80% Motown artists. It was issued on MOTOWN/Universal UK!!!!Did Seagrams/Vivendi own Stax too?Cant remember if all the other non-Motown artists were Stax, but I doubt it.

Thanx LaLaLa Brenda and Jimma for clarifying. At first, I thought some of Miss Brenda's smoke blew in one of my windows..... and right out da door!
(If the last half of that last line sounds like it's from a Motown song, it is.)

"Sir" Stonewall
(as Ms. B. put it;
she is funny!!!!!)

Hi Jimmy Mack,
Also Jean Knight was still on Motown's roster of artist, was just on another label. (The Rev) Al Green was an Motown artist too at once, until he moved on. So was the late Ronnie Dyson.
