As Solomon was from Philly, could his own tour back-up singers have been the same as The Showstoppers, who recorded for several local Philly labels (plus a few other East Coast labels)? I remember that he usually had a girls group as backup, but did he also have a male group backing him on tour? I realise that this is not very likely, as you were referring to his entire band. But, yet, it seems to be too much of a coincidence for me not to ask.

Hi Robb_K!

This could be likely. In the late 60s the line-up of the Showstoppers were Solomon's little brothers - Laddie, Elec and Chuckie - and Earl and Timmy Smith. According to Solomon today "they are living in Philadelphia and doing different varieties of music."

Also in the 60s Mr. Tim Whitsett had his (recording) Imperial Show Band, but that was working out of Memphis and worked with artists like Tommy Tate.

Best regards
Heikki

In the past I asked about the showstoppers band cutting an actual release of
'what can a man do/houseparty'
as I have it on tape plus I have an old interview of the Fantastics/Showstoppers quite in depth as they are talking about Solomon etc.

Didnt think it would be relevent as it was so obvious.
All I asked was about the actual band itself......
