This is an especially wonderful Mother's Day for me. Over the last two years, I nearly lost my Mom twice to Congestive Heart Failure. After undergoing a heart valve replacement in January, and most importantly, the goodness of God, I'm glad to be able to say that she's here, getting stronger everyday. Here's to a woman who's accomplished more AFTER the age of 50, than I have at a younger age. Here's to a woman who raised 4 kids by herself, when the biological didn't bother. Here's to a woman, who gave of herself to help people who she didn't even know, simply because it was the right thing to do. She took on Mayors, Bankers & Congressmen & never flinched & helped to make life better for others, while seeking no compensation for herself. So, to Mrs Gwendolyn Jacobs, I say: I am a much better person for having you as a mother. The example that you set, helped me to be a good father to my son & to be a good person in general. You taught me compassion & that money is not the only form of compensation for a job well done. Your many sacrifices for your children & for others has not gone un-noticed, or, unappreciated. So, for all that you've done, I say thank you! I hope to be 1/10th of the person that you are & I thank God for you!!!
