Hello again, soulful friends!

Hey, Mr. Chancellor,
IMHO the 80's was a bad decade for soul music that was in a authentic "hivernation" (because the "brain-less" disco music fever? because the new way?...)

This made the question easy for to be selective:
-"Homeless" by Curtis Mayfield
-All the album "Let Me Touch You" by O'Jays (especially "Undecover Love")
-All the album "Dream Of A Lifetime" by Marvin Gaye
-"Give Me The Night" by George Benson
-All the album "Jazz Funk" by Incognito
-The album untitled by Defunkt
-The album "Lately" by Billy Paul
-The album "It's Time For Love" by Teddy Pendergrass
-The album "Sound System" by Herbie Hancock
-The album "Clarke-Duke Project II"

Hey SF 3000 on that Wyndchymes LP the most amazing track (and just thinking of it, it gives me the goosebumps! LOL For real...) is ALAKAZAM... that almost instrumental track has those EWF chants, but the cool break with synths waves all around and the bass plucking in the back is just unbelievable...
Give it a spin if you don't remember...

Manny: I hear you..the 80's (if I can put it nicely) was the LOST era of R&B/Soul BUT there are some records that were pretty good and some artists that held it down...you cant forget:

Womack & Womack, Kashief, Loose Ends, Jesse Johnson, ZAPP, One Way..etc

But the whole sensationalism of Disco (and I love me some Disco!!) kinda created the climate of the 80's as well as other factors..Nelson George talks about this a lot..
