I just received a confirmation that this Saturday May 8th, they will be running the Tavares case on America's Most Wanted. To re-cap, Chubby's youngest son was brutally murdered over a year ago. Wasn't sure originally when the show was going to be aired. I just recieved an email saying that will be shown this Saturday for sure. If I hear anything else I will post again! PlEASE WATCH. |

Wow! Thanx for the "411", JrLo. Where did this happen and what age was he? If U can, please give us some other basic background info before we see the "America's Most Wanted" show on Saturday (May 8). Hopefully, that expose will lead to cracking the case and apprehending the guilty. (Message edited by Stonewall on May 04, 2004) |

Hi Stonewall Sorry I took so long to respond! I was trying to find the original message sent to me when it happened and I couldn't find it. From what I can remember he was killed about 2 years ago this September. He was in his early 20's and he had a baby boy. So heartbreaking. It was in Florida but I dont' remember the city. I hope they find this subhuman. Before I became a parent, stuff like this used to hurt, but since I became a parent it hurts even more, and I couldn't even imagine something happening to my kids. When I was 21 and in college I had a very good friend who was killed by her mentally deranged brother when she was 23 years old and 6 months pregnant! At her funeral I saw the pain and the heartache in her mother's eyes. I will never forget that. And all of these years later, (it happened July 6th 1981)I still think and wonder how her mother is doing. We lost touch but even in passing I think about it every day. So I think about what Chubby is going through right now. Dying from an illness is horrible..an accident is also horrible, but to be needlesy shot for no reason...just baffles me.

I saw a very broken hearted father who misses his son so very much... I will pray for them, and hope justice will be done. |

What a truly dreadful story which unfortunately happens less but still too much because some humans prfer to act like wild, ravenous animals. Remember Bill Cosby's son's fate, Ennis, murdered in his car?! Does "Chubby" still perform with Tavares. I guess so. |

I thought that it was horrible. I have one son & if anything like that were to happen to him, I believe that I'd go on a rampage that would make The St Valentines Day Massacre look like a spitball fight. I am so tired of hearing these types of stories; the loss of so many young lives, so needlessly is sad. I can't say any more, other than to hope that Chubby & the family, receives the closure that they need & deserve. It won't bring their loved one back, but, may help they to move on. GOd bless the Tavares family & may He help bring them comfort. Juice |

Hi Juice! How are you sweetie? I thought it was touching the way Chubby's brother were so concerned over his well being.

I read the post earlier this week, that this would be on, so I watched last night and for the 2nd time this week, I cried! First, for Luther, now this! As I watched Chubby Tavares talk about the world in general and his son, I got very emotional, especially when the photos were shown of him and his son, from an infant until he was grown. I asked myself, why and how could you take another human's life over something senseless? I watched as his brothers Pooch and Butch talked about how he(Chubby hasn't been the same) maybe he will again someday. At the end, he talked some more about his son and started to cry, I lost it! I hope they catch this person, and I'm going on record and saying that they will catch this person, who like so many others has brought sadness and a void to many a life! I don't have children, but I have a niece and three nephews who are from 13-7, if anything happened to them, I don't know how I would be! I pray that the closure for this tragedy will come soon for the Tavares family and his son's mother! God Bless! |

As both you & your cuz are e-mail challenged, here we go again:juicefree@hotmail.com. Y'all both storying! I'm telling everyone's husband. I wonder how jrlo's husband would feel if he knew that he was competing with Spock, Tavares & a multitude of cartoon characters. I sure hope that she doesn't grab his ears, as that would be a dead giveaway! So, what skeletal remains are you hiding there. Any special cartoon characters that you were once in love with??? Could it be Chumley, Waldo, Shaggy, Arnold (What'choo talkin' bout Willis), or, perhaps Danny Partridge??? Come on, give up the info, I know you got secrets. You can tell me, really you can. I wonder what your significant other would say about your long, yet, unrequited love for Aquaman??? I'll see y'all later, Ms Fibber & Cuz Storyteller! Juicefree....no 23! |

Charise, You were correct when you posted that they would catch him. When I watched the heart wrenching pain in Chubby's eyes, I knew that his prayers would be answered. It's really ironic that when I met Chubby, Butch and Pooch at the PBS Special show, I felt a connection with Chubby, I did not know about the loss of his son at that time. When I heard about the story, I knew then why I felt the connection. All the prayers that SD posters prayed helped, and so did the prayers for Luther. |
