C-o-u-n-t-d-o-w-n =to= "MOTOWN 45":

It is exactly two weeks until Monday, May 17, 2004 @ 8 p.m. on ABC-TV for the much-anticipated, two-hour television special "MOTOWN 45".

Please choose the ONE (1) MOTOWN artist (not guest, non-Motown artists) who U are most anxious to see perform on stage. Just this once... plz. just choose ONE; it's not a "Top 5" segment. That way, we can do a voting results survey prior to the show. C'mon, S.D.F.-ers -- including the administrators -- join in! It's the soulful thing to do. Thanx!

The 16 classic Motown artists who will be performing on "M-45" are (alphabetically) -- choose ONE:

* ASHFORD & SIMPSON

* BOYZ II MEN

* THE COMMODORES

* THE FOUR TOPS

* FUNK BROTHERS

* THELMA HOUSTON

* JERMAINE JACKSON

* GLADYS KNIGHT & THE PIPS

* NICK LACHEY (of 98 Degrees)

* MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS

* MICHAEL McDONALD

* BRIAN McKNIGHT

* LIONEL RICHIE

* SMOKEY ROBINSON

* THE SUPREMES (Mari Wilson & Cindy Birdsong)

* THE TEMPTATIONS

I won't see it, and will not flick channel back and forth to see what's going on. This is a waste of time on DePasse's merits.

MOTOWN 45 Questions & Comments answered....

Sister Detroit:
GLADYS KNIGHT does the heart-wrenching "Neither One Of Us" solo -- and looks up to Mr. BERRY GORDY, Jr. during the song. We sho 'nuff hope the cameras show that move, ya'all. She has "THE PIPS", including original BUBBA KNIGHT, do the great choreographed dance and the great harmonized 'shout' background on "I Heard It Through The Grapevine". The other 2 Pips she adds are JOEY FATONE of BACKSTREET BOYS and CEDRIC.

Don:
SUZANNE dePASSE has as much to do with this M-45 production as a particular former Motown artist: SOUPY SALES. Zilch! Before U ask, it is not produced by Motown, either. The entire event is 100% independently produced by the much-praised and awarded Jeff Margolis Productions, known for such highly-acclaimed specials as the "Academy Awards", "Michael Jackson: One Night Only", the "Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Show", "A Merry Motown Christmas", etc., etc. In other words, they are more than qualified and with very established Motown credentials. So, Don. it's safe to watch the show and actually see 15 different Motown artists perform. When will we have that opportunity again? Perhaps, never.

Dyva Naye:
Where the Jackson boys -- and girls --will be is a great question. Not at Motown 45 is the first answer. No doubt THE JACKSONS will be having a big blow-out to celebrate "M-45" and JERMAINE's duet on "I'll Be There" with his blue-eyed soul brother, NICK LACHEY (of 98 Degrees). I can think of a positive butt humorous comment here, however, I will somehow refrain. And, yes, I agree 100%, this will be a missed opportunity for MICHAEL JAY and some needed, positive, front-page press for him. Oh, well. We'll miss DIANA and STEVIE, too.

Tony with an "R":
I wasn't gonna mention my choice just yet; however, since U hit on it -- thank U -- I must say: Diva Detroit MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS and singing the Motown anthem, "Dancing In The Street". And in no small measure, incredibly, they will be the only authentic Motown girl group!

Stay tuned for more updates. If anyone hears or reads anything else regarding M-45, which is bound to happen, please post it on this "Countdown MOTOWN 45" file.

Oh, no Miss Soul Sister, I know the difference between "Sis" and "S.S.":-) U are the one who is friends with "Bobby (not Eli) and Marsha (not Brady)".:-) If U look up above, "Sweet Darlin'" (M.R.V.), it's ironic that both U and Sister Detroit commented on Miss GLADYS (not HORTON).:-) In my reply, I just happened to use your word "heart-wrenching" (but with the hyphen).:-) And, "Honey Love" (M.R.V.), U know I'd never forget who showed me those hot pix of "D.J.".:-)

"Luv, Guess Who" (M.R.V.)

For me it's got to be Martha Reeves with her anthem, "Dancing In The Street", even though it's not with the Original Vandellas.
A good friend in Nashville will be recording it for me and I'll be awaiting the postman eagerly a few days later.

Motown David -- not to be confused with Motown Diva.
What U are doing is smart about having "M-45" recorded and sent. U must live in the U.K.? If so, did U get to see MARTHA on her tour recently? Regarding THE VANDELLAS line-up for "Motown-45", although I can't swear at this moment how long DELPHINE has been with the group (I do know it's long), I can attest that LOIS REEVES joined in mid-1967 to replace the departing BETTY KELLEY. Lois joined The Vandellas about the same time that CINDY joined THE SUPREMES. U'll see Lois on the now famous M.R.V. album covers of "Ridin' High", "Sugar 'n' Spice", "Natural Resources", "Black Magic" and various Motown compilations since and hopefully more to come. I must state that during the past couple of decades that Roz and ANNETTE STERLING have also appeared with M.R.V. at one-night concerts and on tour. Glad I had the opportunity to clarify. And, as we all know, for "Motown-25" in 1983, there weren't any Vandellas! They only showed Miss Reeves solo -- and a shamefully abbreviated version at that. (The same shame was done to MARY WELLS and JUNIOR WALKER in "M-25".) Thus, this year is a triple improvement for the audience of millions and especially the fans to see the entire group. Personally, I'm glad to see that U chose M.R.V., too. Fortunately, every Motown choice here is great. I don't think anyone can go wrong.

Mary Wilson & Cindy Birdsong: This is the first time in years that the two have sung together onstage and in front of such a large audience. It will also give the wonderful Miss Birdsong some needed attention. From the pictures I have seen they look great.

Gladys Knight: sorry I had to cheat, she is one of my favorites.

Hi, Shawn, I am glad U said something. That's one of the purposes of these boards. U may know how it is when your Motown mind is on ten different Motown personalities at once -- especially when posting on the Board and with the music blasting in the background. I do not post w/o music! With THE VANDELLAS in 1967, LOIS REEVES replaced BETTY KELLEY, who back in 1964 had replaced ANNETTE STERLING. I was even picturing the album "Ridin' High" (1968), which, of course, has MARTHA (in the top hat), ROZ ASHFORD and Lois on the cover. By the way, MARTHA and Betty were reunited again last month at the filming of the Motown 45 event in L.A. Betty was an invited guest of M-45. Betty was also at the "20th Anniversary Tribute to MARVIN GAYE". Going back, the following year or so, SANDRA TILLEY, also formerly of THE VELVELETTES (like Betty before her), replaced Roz. It was Sandra in the big, clear spice jar with Martha and Lois on the cover of "Sugar 'n' Spice" in 1969. Sandra was also on the covers of "Natural Resources" (1970) and "Black Magic" (1971). And, the cover of Ebony mag. with the M.R.V. trio. Sadly, most people don't know, Sandra died several years ago. Martha was personally very fond of Sandra. Thus, there was a total of 7 Vandellas through the early 1990s. DELPHINE REEVES is now the 8th. Well, whadya know, the exact same total personnel as THE SUPREMES! On M-45, The Vandellas with Martha will be #6 and #8, if you're keeping track. No matter, they'll be "Dancing On The Stage".

Update on the Survey of Favorite M-45 Artists:

Interestingly, the 3 leading contenders to date appear to be (alphabetically): GLADYS KNIGHT & THE PIPS, MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS, and THE SUPREMES. In other words, three "Girl Groups". (Yes, G.K.P. was considered a "girl" group. Ask BUBBA!)

Feature Post -- Ideas for watching the M-45 Show:

Have a "MOTOWN 45 Party" or at least a gathering of several comrades or a few special friends -- and people who won't constantly talk throughout the show. I'm having a "Motown 45 Dinner Party". The supper will be prior to the beginning of the show as I, of course, don't want ceramic plates, drinking glasses and/or metal utensils rattling during M-45. During the show, I'll use nice butt hard plastic, noiseless big cups. As Spookie regularly says, "The bigger the better". In this case, it means that U don't have to be interrupted by having to refill the beverages as often. U can always have a "Function at the Junction" without serving dinner. U can, for instance, get take-out (e.g., KFC) or have it delivered (e.g., Pizza Parlor). If U are on a "limited budget" (a.k.a. no dinero) U can certainly do it Dutch style! Or, let them eat before they come and U serve the cake, so to speak, or have some other dessert or party snax. They can always bring the wine and/or the beer and/or the booze and/or the smoke, too, if appropriate. We always declare: "To each his/her own". Personally, I don't drink alcohol as it eats away at your human organs sometimes requiring replacements if they are avaiable and, even worse, alcoholic drinx have far too many calories; however, smoke has none. The music in the background will be MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS' "Dance Party", especially with the to-be-performed "Dancing In The Street". Then, I'll play the new "Motown #1s" c.d. How perfect is dat? If U have -- or U can get, U have time --"Dance Party" prior to the show, U should advise people that if they are disturbing during the show (with outbursts, etc.), except during the t.v. commercials, U will turn into "Mobile Lil, The Dancing Witch". I advise folks of dat before they even accept the invitation. It's also very interesting and usually fun to watch other people's reactions in person to the events on the t.v. For example, most people -- in the tens of millions -- are expecting to see *THE* SUPREMES (any 3 of them, as long as they are Supremes). Let's face it, no one on this Board, butt most assume that they'll be seeing DIANA! That's a logical presumption. If we told U that they're having a Big Ben British music special tribute on the telly featuring THE ROLLING STONES, U would expect to see MICK JAGGER, wouldn't U? Well, "Off the Table" (as in off-the-record), can U imagine how people are gonna react and what they'll say when they see that Destinied Child "Skinny Baby Girl" (dress size 1) with the 2 much more mature and *real* SUPREMES? That's another reason NOT to serve supper during the show (severe reactions). Wait 'til U read about that "trio" in the newspapers the next day. Trust me, it will remind U of the name of another former Motown group: "Devastating Affair". The reviews on the actual M-45 performance event (4/4/4) included this telling statement: "If we ever missed Diana Ross, it is now!" Don't 4-get to have the V.C.R. ready. Until M-45 comes out on video and D.V.D., U are probably and hopefully gonna want to see most of it over and over. If U haven't yet voted for your "Most Wanted" to see of the actual 16 classic Motown performers on the M-45 show, U can do so now. Remember, only one vote per person in America. Except for "Don the Poster", everybody enjoy the show!

Motownly Yours,

Dr. Stonewall & Miss Spookie

P.S. Any M-45 party pointers from U? Tell us!

See ad at: www.ABC.Go.com/Specials/Motown _45.html.

Note: Spookie had the same amount of input into this special M-45 feature posting for SDF-ers as The Supremes had into "Someday We'll Be Together".

wow...I had to breathe for a minute..

Nick of 98 Degrees...??? They might as well throw Jessica Simple in the mix.

I recently had the honor in meeting the genius himself Mr. Lamont Dozier, I didnt think to ask if he was appearing or not..It would be really nice to see him and the Holland Bros do a performance or make an appearance. His new CD "Refelctions" is a WINNER!! Constant rotaion over here.

NO Stevie Wonder?? NO Jackson 5....NO Diana Ross...Okay this is a sick joke...

Thanx for the 411 Stonewall..I had my hopes up for a minute.

I am glad to hear Mr. Bubba Knight will be performing with Miss Gladys Knight, It would be really nice to see all three perform though...

The Commodores will be the big highlight for me...I hope its all original members performing!

Hey, Sly Fan (me too), more good news 4 U: Holland-Dozier-Holland were all at the M-45 event and should be shown or introduced on the M-45 special in 12 days. DIANA, STEVIE and MICHAEL JAX have their separate reasons for doing or not doing certain things. U being a SLY fan, I don't have to explain that. They are like a glass of crystal clear natural spring water compared to SYLVESTER. By the way, Michael Jax had NICK LACHEY (and his entire group, 98 Degrees) on his big "30th Anniversary Special" 2 years ago. Nick really is an excellent and appealing singer. The Jax sure like him; seems like they don't want to do w/o him. You'll see. Do U think Sly STONE would like my name STONEwall? I do. I know he'd luv it!

Thanx for the 411 on LAMONT. I'll surely get "Reflections".

P.S. "Tito" who?

Greetings, Louis at Girl Groups,

I looked at the website with all of your Motown 45 pix and they sho 'nuff are interesting. U got most of the current and former "Ladies of Motown" such as (and in order for me): MARTHA REEVES, BRENDA HOLLOWAY, SCHERRIE PAYNE, KIM WESTON, CINDY BIRDSONG, CLAUDETTE ROBINSON, BETTY KELLEY, et al. -- plus some non-Motown such as the talented and stunning FREDA PAYNE. Noticeably missing from your photos is Supreme MARI WILSON! Is there a story there? Probably. Also, THELMA and GLADYS not shown but I have no special interest there whatsoever. It's a shame that none of THE MARVELETTES were there. By the way, I would never have recognized Kim! I've met her a few times, actually via Mr. GAYE in Detroit; however, I soon realized that was in 1974 -- now 30 years ago! Wow, was a young then hangin' with him. It was all great -- especially MPG's very special guest at his concerts.

Two suggestions re the pix: your abbreviations of names on your pix are really too brief like "Sc" for Scherrie Payne and then linking 5 together like "MaBrScCiKi". Give the girls more than that -- at least, spell out their names. Also, a lot of the pix were ruined because U didn't say "smile". Those candid (unprepared) shots often ruin the pic. There's a couple of Betty that are scarey because her face is twisted from talking when U snapped. Of course, she was never known as the good-looking VANDELLA, anyway, but....

Martha looks and is fine. Brenda looks great. And Scherrie looks fabulous. Do U know if FLO's daughter MICHELE or MARY WELLS' daughter SUGAR were there? They should have been.

I'd like to have some pix for our non-profit org website. Take a look at the icon "Songs of The Stonewall"! There is a lot of 411 on Girl Groups! Here's the direct link:
www.STONEWALLvets.org/songsofS tonewall-1.htm. The site gets over 1,000 visits per day and sometimes 2,000 + per day! Of course, Louis, U would get photography credit and contact 411 for U or your group for those who may want to purchase prints. Let me know.

=SW=

Note: U can post to me at this "M-45 Countdown" file.

Nice photo albm, Louis. Sure would like to see Brenda Holloway and Kim Weston. Martha Reeves is a favorite for sure, but to answer the question at hand:
Smokey Robinson

Greetings, "Soulful Detroit", no, not the Board but Louis of GGs. Wow, how did U get that name so fast?

I re-reviewed your M-45 pix. On this board it would be nice if U posted the pic of (l-2-r) MARTHA, BETTY and SCHERRIE and the other favorite foto is BRENDA HOLLOWAY with a Gay guy. Nothing new there. Bi the way, do U know what that is on top of KIM WESTON's head? Is it some type of silver turban? Another foto choice would be THE VANDELLAS -- if U cut DELPHINE off. She looks horrid in that pic as she was biting her tongue or suntin'. MARTHA looks grand and LOIS beautiful and fun as always. If U do, Louis, U could do it spread out, not all at once, with those 3 pix.

Do U know Spookie? If so and U have a visceral reaction, please, please, don't quit the Board. We'll be good. Besides Spookie is no relation to any of us. Bi the way, do U and me know each other? I think so.... In the 1980s I was president of a girl group fan club. I also was previously president of a different girl group and also of a Motown girl!! -- all of which are at or in or a combination thereof M-45!!! Plus,
kinda notoriously involved with a male Motown star 'several' years ago, which narrowly missed hitting the tabloids on more than ten occasions. Well, U'll let me know.

Dyva Naye sits corrected, trust me! There is absolutely and clearly NO choice by U on this file. I've scrolled up and down -- and even tried sideways. U merely asked a question: I wonder where will THE JACKSON BOYZ be? I even answered that hypothetical "?" Nonetheless, U never selected (voted) who U are most anxious to see of the 16 different classic acts that WILL BE PERFORMING on the M-45 show. The listing of choices is the first post on this file. Perhaps, U just misunderstood. Oh, and your not the only diva who erred. NYC Diva stated: "There are too many choices". 16?! Yet, D-NYC was able to choose out of hundreds for "Brown-Eyed Pop". I'm so surprised at her, aren't U? I'll get Spookie after her!

What U think, Miss Naye (I know so many divas), is very important to me, even if to no one else -- and U don't know this yet but -- as on the Old S.D. Forum, when SDF-ers were asked, what are your favorite "B" sides, U & I were the only two to choose "Don't Bring Back Memories" by THE FOUR TOPS (late 1968/early 69) -- which would have been a "Top 5" hit (#1 R&B), if Motown didn't mistakenly and wastefully release that heavy-duty, powerfully-performed, hard-drivin', fast-movin', dynamite LEVI with forceful harmonious- backing song as the "B" side, instead of that non-commercial and, IMHO, bore-ing "What Is A Man?", which no one ever heard of unless U are one of The Tops, worked for M-town or are on these Boards! Thus, a comaraderie was established between us but U innocently didn't know it until now.

So, maybe, your choice will be The Four Tops, Miss Naye?

SLY Fan --- "Stand! There's a giant besides U about to fall."

Thanx. NICK Lachey is =not= gonna be a PIP! That's Joey Fatone from the BACKSTREET BOYS as an Honorary Pip. Anyway, Nick, who is signed with Motown, is doing a primetime, spotlight duet with JERMAINE JAX. They are doing an ebony 'n' ivory routine on the #1 J-5 song "I'll Be There". This significant and symbolic bi-racial effort is reminiscent of SLY! I'm sure that it will be an excellent and moving performance. Probably, it will have the effect of "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother". U recall that on "M-25" (1983) "IBT" was done by MICHAEL JAX and JERMAINE -- plus with THE JACKSON brothers on background. SF, since U had a lot of the 411 mixed up on Nick, are U sure that this is the person who is married"? I thought he was....

"SF" could be for San Francisco, too. Meanwhile, SF, check this out:

To: SLY Fan
Fr: STONE Wall

That's right, NICKY & JESSICKA, how could I have forgotten that one? Easily! Well, I'm sure you'll agree, my guess wasn't far off. Besides, married to her doesn't mean that he's not bi-lingual! I'm glad to see that U are humorous, too. Regarding THE PIPS, although JOEY BUTTAFUCCO FATONE is -- in our opinions, not a good choice -- CEDRIC is far worse. I understand he gained "45" pounds to do this role! It's helpful that he has his job title, "the Entertainer", with his name, to let folks know exactly what he allegedly does. With those two on board "The "Grapevine", they could have billed the act as GLADYS, BUBBA & THE CLOWNS. We all surely would have preferred all the original PIPS! What's up with Go-GLADYS? Why did she give the green light to this nonsense? She's "not that innocent". At least GK does "Neither One Of Us" solo and with telltale rolling eyes reference to BERRY! It's a nice, heartfelt gesture, "I declare".

Yeah, Nick & 98 DEGREES have been signed to Motown for several years -- I believe since their recording history started. Any hits they had were exclusively with Motown. By the way, for MICHAEL JAX' spectacular "30th Anniversary Special", which featured LIZ TAYLOR (as sidekick and introducer), DIONNE, LIZA, WHITNEY, BEYONCE and BRITNEY plus MacCAULAY (as audience pal) -- it all sounds pretty Gay to me -- MJJ insisted on having Nick on that show. Actually, it was more like "demanded or else". After what U reminded me of, Miss SIMPSON must have gone bananas!

Rest assured, M-45 will be "Hot Fun In The Springtime"!

STONEWALL! What's up?

If there's anyone I'd like to see, it would be The Four Tops with Levi. These fine gentleman have always put their fans first & are true professionals. Unlike a certain "Diva" who still wants to treat her group mates as so much hired help, The Tops have ALWAYS PUT THEIR FANS FIRST!!!

Unfortunately, our "Diva" has always been too busy pulling power plays & treating folks as her minions, to care about her fans & what the fans want. As a result of this, I could care less than a damn whether she re-unites with her group or not. Frankly, considering the respect she has for her group, it's legacy, or what it means to their fans, she doesn't deserve our loyalty.

The groups fans deserve better than they've received. If our "Diva" doesn't care, why should we? We should give props to the other ladies who care & they should be compensated fairly.

>>>>> M-45 Countdown: 9!!!!!!!!!

Like EDWIN STARR's song, "25 Miles", I've got to walk on, 25 miles to go, 20, 15, 10, 9....

Well, "M-45" has just 9 days to go! It's so exciting... the anticipation.

Update: Thanx to Juice (free of Temptations), Helene ("Livin' In Shame" -- not literally) and T.L.H., clearly THE 4 TOPS have jumped far into the lead as the S.D.F. choice for male group and/or male (period) as regards "M-45". The Tops do sing four of their #1s.

"Hey, Jimmy Mack": That's a good question U asked why was X-VANDELLA Betty at M-45 but not Annette & Roz? On stage with MARTHA will be LOIS & DELPHINE. I know that A & R do read these Soulful Detroit boards, so maybe one or both of them could please answer that question. One way or another, we will find out why and very soon.

THE MARVELETTES is an entirely different story as none of them were there on stage or off. I, for one hundred, am disturbed by that as The M's were w/ "M" for a full decade and gave M-town it's first #1 song ("PMP") and plenty of classic Motown popular songs after that milestone. Lord knows, M-town grew to luv #1s. In fact, don't they have a "Motown #1s" c.d. out now? Sho 'nuff! And, guess who's on it? The marvelous Marvelettes!

To see a listing of The Marvelettes' singles, U can viz:

Will it be for sale? will there be edited and unedited bootleg controversial versions to follow? outtakes and the like? Will I be able to contain myself when the greatest diva of them all , the legendary lovely Miss Martha Reeves takes the stage...a vision exuding pure soul, emanating kindness and warmth making her the suoerlative for MOTOWN diva...sounds like there'll be plenty of divettes there but only one D I V A ...that is Martha Rose!....just can't wait!..I can't I can't!....hurry sundown!...

Recently, Mr. Mack, just so that U get a clearer and more balanced picture of THE VANDELLAS situation, ROZ & ANNETTE performed with MARI WILSON doin' back-up at the R'n'R H-o=F (where they were previously inducted with honors with MARTHA REEVES). J.M., trust me, they were not singing Vandellas' songs. They were singing Supremes' songs. The Vandellas were singing The Supremes!! How crayzee and disrespectful is dat? Truth be told, this is not the first unprofessional "stunt" that they pulled. And then the next time there is a big event such as "M-45", A&R will "wonder" why M.R. didn't ask them to be in the show with her, again? At least U and anyone who reads this will know. Do U have any idea what Miss Reeves must think of this cross-bred group: MARI WILSON & THE VANDELLAS?? I do! Enjoy your M.R.V. moniker. It's the same name as my Siamese cat.

STONEWALL!! I brought up Levi & The Tops & Smokey & the original Miracles because they are who I WISH were appearing on the show! I was agreeing with T.L & Helene's response to Slyfans statement regarding a wish list. Slyfan posted his statement on May 5th. I was a bit late to the party, once I arrived, I responded to the wish list that he asked about.

JUICE, May 5th was a very bizy day on this "M-45 Countdown" file. Go look! However, I went back and re-looked. Although U are smart and very oral and outgoing, etc., etc., U have the facts a bit mixed up again, as is happening more and more lately with U, it seems. Helene and T.L. were complying with my request to name your favorite artist U wanna see on "M-45". That's why I have the 16 Motown artist choices on the opening of this file. Go look! That is why they chose THE FOUR TOPS. They were not responding to an imaginary "wish list" of Sly Fan. That's your misreading. Go look!

There is no "wish list" just a list, so to speak. If there were a "wish list", I would have chosen EDDIE KENDRICKS! In fact, Sly Fan, though discussing plenty with me and us having fun, did not actually choose a favorite for "M-45". We discussed go-go THE PIPS and the goo-goo JOEY FATONE. Go look! SF even brought up Gay RICHARD SIMMONS. Go look! SF was saying that the real SLY STONE would dig my name "STONEwall". Go look. In the future, it would be much better, less time-consuming and less, ummmm, frustrating, if U would GO LOOK carefully before writing to me with the misinfo. Fair enough? Good!

"Count-down ==to== "MOTOWN 45" -- only 5 more miles to go!!!!!

Newz: ABC-TV now has their t.v. ad out. It is very effective and basically says that if U don't watch Motown 45, there's something missing in your soul and U'll be one of the few not watching M-45.

Remember STEVIE's "I'm Wondering"? Anyway, in one word: WhatchutalkigaboutJuice? This file is for: "What artist are U most anxious to see on M-45". U answered it with a fine choice, THE FOUR TOPS. So, "J", what the hell are U talkin' about? P.S. U still did not answer my "?" if U wanna see M-45 in Manhattan if I don't go to Dee-troit? (Bi the way, that "?" is on another file?) :-)

>>>>> "Countdown to MOTOWN 45" -- 2 Daze!!

As DIANA dead-panned on that now well-known line in "There's No Stopping Us Now", a flipside song by DRS: "Would U believe?" That's rite! Would U believe that there are only 2 days left b/4 M-45??!!

I have advised ALL of my friends that if U don't watch M-45 there will be no need to ever contact me again in life -- or death -- and nor will I accept the phone call, the e-mail or the flowers!

Greetings, Shawn:
I expect a call back from Diva REEVES today and it will happen, as Miss MARTHA never disappoints, to inform me where THE VANDELLAS will be viewing M-45. I will be glad to post it on this file when I know. Check back here this eve!

National "T.V. GUIDE" magazine description of MOTOWN 45:

There is a "Close-Up" one-quarter page box with the appropriate caption:

For Music Lovers: "MOTOWN 45" (it shows a pic of a lively LIONEL with mic in hand).

Icons of the seminal soul label mark its 45th anniversary by performing the magical music that makes sitting still an impossibility. Performers include the FUNK BROTHERS, the FOUR TOPS, the TEMPTATIONS, GLADYS KNIGHT, SMOKEY ROBINSON, the COMMODORES and SUPREMES CINDY BIRDSONG and MARY WILSON.... LIONEL RICHIE and CEDRIC the Entertainer host the event, which also features the BACKSTREET BOYS, WAYNE BRADY, BRIAN McKNIGHT, JERMAINE JACKSON, MACY GRAY, NICK LACHEY, MICHAEL McDONALD, KELLY ROWLAND, JOSS STONE, and NICK ASHFORD and VALERIE SIMPSON.

To quote a D.R.S. album song, "Keep An Eye" and, specifically the line, "Somebody's missing, guess who?" Actually, there is more than one!!!

On the opposite right-hand page is a full-page ad.
The top solid caps heading reads: AN ANNIVERSARY CONCERT EVENT! There is a reproduction drawing of a Motown "45" r.p.m. record! Part of it (top 1/3) has the famous Motown Records trademark design with part of the map of Michigan red-starring Detroit (except this ad is unfortunately in black and white). The other part of the record (2/3s) shows the faces of 9 people (7 black, 2 white). I initially thought it was 6 + 3, as Smokey is one of the faces. The other faces do NOT include any groups or any group members. Only 3 shown are classic Motown artists: Lionel, Gladys and, as I said, Smokey. Only 3 out of 9? That's who the anniversary is supposed to be for: classic Motown! Michael McDonald and Nick Lachey are shown. Also, Macy Gray. And, Kelly. There is one girl I don't recognize. Maybe Joss Stone? (Is she black or white or one but looks the other?) Again, there is something missing. Actually, there are a lot of somethings missing. It kinda leaves U luke warm -- when Motown is H-O-T!

Below this would-be eye-catching 45-record photo,
if it were in color, it states:

Hosted by Lionel Richie and Cedric the Entertainer -- Celebrate the songs you love as Motown superstars come together with today's hottest artists for one spectacular night of music.

Question: "Today's hottest artists"? There isn't even one much less plural. Personally, I despise false advertising. U will not see Madonna, Janet, Britany, Justin, Beyonce, Usher, Christina, et al.

At the bottom of the page is a little ad (w/ foto):

"MOTOWN #1s": 24 of the greatest #1 hits in music history on 1 c.d. featuring MARVIN GAYE, DIANA ROSS & THE SUPREMES, STEVIE WONDER and many more.

Reaction: I had to nervously laugh out loud. Of all the artists they mentioned, none of them will be on this M-45 show for various and unknown reasons. That takes a lot of chutzpah! In fact, THE MARVELETTES have "Postman" on the c.d. If they had mentioned them with the other artists named in the ad, then it would make it 4 out of 4 not on the show!!!! Hmmmmmmmmmm.

"Dear Don" -- I luv alliteration!

At least U are upfront with your thoughts, much as I do frequently disagree with them. See if U can force yourself to watch a once-in-five-years mostly classic Motown t.v. special. I know, it will be torture for U, but try. Just think, U could have been in a pre-Sadamn prison camp. Otherwise, "Dear Don", if U aren't going to watch, the entire SDF Board is gonna boycott/girlcott the show. It's "Dear Don" or nobody! Or as Diva DIANA sang, "It's all for one and one for all" or was it "one for all and all for one"? Anyway, at least U have one positive thought, U re-read this file. Good idea. Please give me some credit, "Dear Don", for at least replying to your posts as U rightfully complained on another file that no one else does. Oh, "DD", enjoy the M-45 show.

P.S. - Less than 30 hours 'til M-45!

Hey everyone..I hope I'm not spoiling anything here.. I just caught Motown 45 on the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation).. I didn't even know they were going to air it, until I saw a promo earlier today.. I spent an hour looking for a blank tape :-)... Let me just say, I don't know why some reviewers are dissing Kelly Rowland.. I thought the duet with Lionel was fabulous (at least on her part) she sounded and looked flawless! For me the highlights were Mary, Cindy and Kelly Rowland, Gladys Knight, Thelma Houston and Brian McKnight.. anyway I don't wanna say anymore, I guess for whatever reason the CBC broadcast it early..

No Boyz II Men; No Martha & the Vandellas. The show has been on in Canada. There were some good moments and it was entertaining. But it was mostly about the new singers. Kelly Rowland is pretty tentative, especially on Endless Love. The Supremes segment is short and Cindy is a pretty weak singer unfortunately. Smokey was good with Josh Stone. The Four Tops were strong. The Temptations I thought would be better. The finale was as weak as finales come; they only brought out the Four Tops, the Commodores, the Supremes without any announcement as some background singers. The made it clear the stars were Michael MacDonald, Gladys Knight, Cedric, Lionel, Josh Stone, Smokey. I cringed at that part.

Q: U must have read that I am having a "M-45 Dinner Party" and above U ask, "Are U having people over for the occasion?" How else could anyone have a dinner party and not have "people"? Did U think it was for animals? Just asking. Enquiring minds wanna know. Some from this Board will be at it, trust me! A Motown superstar will actually be calling us during the party!! Also, another classic Motown artist who was at M-45, but unfortunately not performing, will also be calling!!! Can U guess who dat is? I'll give U a clue on dat one: "Stone".

Lionel Richie takes stepback into Motown --temporarily
LIKE so many other R&B and pop singers from the 1970s and '80s, Lionel Richie is making a comeback.
As the former frontman for The Commodores, Richie wrote the chart-topping hits "Just To Be Close To You," "Easy," and "Brick House."
Richie, 54, also wrote "Lady," which became a huge hit for Kenny Rogers, won five Grammy Awards, and co-wrote, with (Michael Jackson), the USA for Africa benefit tune "We Are the World."
Now his popularity is soaring once again thanks to a stint as a guest judge on last season's "American Idol" television. His latest CD, "Just For You," arrived in stores this month.
The eclectic ballad and mid-tempo filled CD features collaborations with Lenny Kravitz and producers Paul Barry and Mark Taylor (the duo behind Cher's, "Believe" and Enrique Iglesias' "Hero"), and Richie begins touring in July in support of the album.
Until then, fans can catch him basking in the spotlight with comedian Cedric The Entertainer as host of the 8 p.m. Monday television special on ABC, "Motown 45."
The musical extravaganza pays homage to Motown founder Berry Gordy and includes performances by Smokey Robinson, The Funk Brothers, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, The Four Tops, Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong.
"Being a part of the "Motown 45" tribute show brought back some wonderful memories for me," said Richie. "It was a really great homecoming, Even though the show reminded me of how old I'm getting, it made me realize how fortunate I was to be a part of such rich, musical history."
The special also features contemporary pop and R&B acts Joss Stone, Brian McKnight, Jermaine Jackson, Macy Gray and former "American Idol" contestant Kimberley Locke.

Cedric The Entertainer and Locke perform Marvin Gaye's "It Takes Two."
"Don't laugh," said Cedric. "We tear the song up. I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised."
He said he even gets in the act with Gladys Knight and the Pips and does a "Pip dance."
"For me just being on stage with these artists is an honor," he said. "I grew up listening to Lionel Richie and The Commodores. This music is timeless."
For fans hoping for a Commodore's reunion, Richie says his performance with the group on the show is probably as close as they'll come.
"The guys still have it though," laughed Richie. "But I think we're all on different pages now. The past is always great to revisit but it isn't always easy to relive."
That's one of the reasons Richie says there will never be another Motown.
And while Richie admits he appreciates television shows such as American Idol, he said becoming a star takes much longer than 12 weeks.
I've been at this for more than 20 years, he said. It took me years under the guidance of Motown to learn how to entertain, not sing, simply entertain. Unfortunately today, there are no more careers in this industry. Most artists are lucky if they get two albums. If you ask most musicians today how they got their career started they are likely to say they passed the audition. That's the way it is.

Stonewall,
You can't make people agree with your wants, cravings and desires. Just like you can't make people agree with as in music, sports, fashion and politics. It's not like when I'll say something and everyone will listen to me, cause everyone will have their own opinion, whether they agree or disagree with what's been posted in The SDF's past and present. Some folk that post here may or may not want to watch. You said I must have been in an pre-Sadamm prison camp. Well I think you are stonewalling when it comes to this whole Mary Wilson and FLOS info, let the courts handle it, cause alot of people'll want to know what's going on with this predicament.

I use to log on to the offical Motown website and people would sometime get offended at other's known factual truths, or they wouldn't comment at all, not towards just me as to other's as well. See, when I came onto SD alot of those things which we're being said 6-7 yrs ago now are finally coming to light. Motown has always painted this grand fairy-tale but it had it's cracks and flaws in the foundation too. It's about Don it's about other's views Stonewall, dig.

I'll tell you what. The little of the show that I saw sounded like bad Karaoke, especially the finale. There seemed to be no energy & it was as though folks were either out of their league, or, simply lacking true inspiration. I saw the last 45 minutes & it simply had no energy. Wayne Brady is definitely not Stevie Wonder. As the show was going off, I felt like what was the point??? After which I thought & I quote Jean Carn: "Was That All It Was". Even Peggy Lee was asking: "Is That All There Is?" From what I saw, it was simply pointless!

Damn, I'm diverse tonight. A Peggy Lee reference, wow, where did that come from???

Wow! It may have taken 21 years (since "Motown 25"), but the Supremes were finally able to do a medley of their hits for a national audience and they were terrific! Mary looked great (I loved the way Cedric introduced her) , Cindy still has it and Kelly was a Supreme surprise she was very good.

I am a very, very happy fan right at this moment that our girls proved once again why they are the undisputed greatest female group of all time. They looked and sounded great. I was surprised at how high up the stage was from the audience, but put a mic in Mary Wilson's hand and she just works the stage.

The rest of the performers were great, although Theo Peoples forgot some of the words to "Reach Out I'll Be There," I was very pleased at the quality of show ABC presented tonight. Jermaine Jackson sounded good and looked much younger than his age. The Funk Bros. were cooking and Thelma Houston? Fagettaboutitt!!! Gladys Knight was tremendous, Smokey was, well Smokey and the young lady from "American Idol" is already a star in my opinion. Great show, great new memories were made tonight!

I thought it was a poorly produced show. The big question....where was MARTHA REEVES?Why was she cut?All the TV spot promos showed her...what happened?I thought Mary Wilson, Cindy Birdsong,4 Tops, Temptations,Smokey Robinson were all real good, I thought Gladys Knight,Thelma Houston and the Commadores were great. I just can't beleive they cut Martha....the finale never showed a clear close up of the stage to avoid showing Martha, Lois & Delphine I guess.Strange.

I'm sorry, but I get sad when I see the Tempts and Four Tops do a set. It just reminds me of those special voices I grew up with that are missing....and how time passes.

...but it also made me appreciate the efforts of Gladys Knight even more. The lady hit a grand slam just like she always does.

I had forgotten what a nice voice Jermaine Jackson has.

Without getting into actual performances, I liked the production and the pace of the show. It was intended to be a celebration of the music, and after all the hoopla and b.s., I think they accomplished that.

The presence of Stevie Wonder would have went a long way though.

TERRIBLE program! The producers & editors need
much more training before being given prime time
slots. A terrible shame! I haven't called Martha,
but I sure hope she was informed she'd been cut
BEFORE the show aired.

I had a last second change of heart and didn't watch. I wanted to look at something else, and I did. My cousin taped it. When the other broadcast I was watching went off my cousin played it back. I was doing some house chores, and I glanced at some of M- 45. It had it's moments though, this Motown special sucked. I think whoever wants to do another special needs to quit it while they're ahead. In the words of The Beatles "LET IT BE".

Hi All.

This is JMO, so please don't be offended...

The program was horrible! The only redeeming quality the show had was GLADYS KNIGHT. I admit seeing Cindy Birdsong & Mary Wilson was a real treat. That finale left something to be desired. It was a waste of 2 hours. I could say a lot more, but I'll stop there.

I am not going to give a review because after all the hulla bulla, I expected the producers to surprise us with something special. After all, they had to sell the NEW Motown to the audience, especially the younguns, of whom it doesn't take much to satisfy.

I am in shock they had all those dancers on stage when the Funk Brothers were playing behind Gerald Lavert. What were the producers trying to prove in that instance? They should have shown the Funk Brothers individually as they were playing. After all, they were the stars on the show, having been on the greatest Motown hits. To have an amature like Kimberly "mention" the Funk brothers was disrespect for the greatest music machine of all time. Kim Weston should have been up there with the Funk Brothers.

I loved Gladys' performance.

I'm sure Gordy wanted to leave early. He never would have stood for that.

Martha Reeves was interviewed on the News last night. She didn't look too happy. The clips shown of the Motown acts were better than the M45 show. Also, there was a M45 affair at the Roostertail last night with some of the former artist watching the show. Listen to this, they interviewed the Contours on the News. Yep, your right, it was Sylvester Pott's New Contours they interviewed. Each of them said something about how great it was to be a part of the legacy. (LOL)

Sis, I guess "Do You Love Me" sung by Gerald LeVert suddenly became a tribute to the Dirty Dancing movie with all those dancers. The Funks were way more important and should have been shown at least a little bit more.

On the news was Martha interviewed at the M-45 affair at the Roostertail? Maybe she didn't know she would be totally cut out of the broadcast.

Hi Handsome,
Gladys just burned it man. It was good to see Lionnel Ritchie also with Kelly to do an duet with Kelly from Destiny's Child and Cedric along with The America Idol winner do a duet together, so I can't knock it. It would've been nice to see Ms. Kim Weston to do "It Takes Two" with Brain McKnight, that would've been interesting I'd say. Under circumstances I thought The Tops used what they had to pull it off, thought they did a better job than Otis's Tempts. Smokey and Joss Stone was alright but whn Smoke did his spotlight he sounded a bit off. I think no one can say anything bad about Ashford & Simpson just because they we're asked to be there. Overall the show coulda been better. What happened to Martha, Kim, Brenda, Stevie, Rick, Teena and The Miracles? How come Lionnel wasn't asked to get back with The Commadores to do a couple of numbers, somethin'?

And Stonewall where are you? You got your wish of how you overly expresses so much about forcing everyone to see this poorly probuced broadcast of a show, huh? Now that you've celebrated your M-45, now it's back to the daily grind, and Mary has to go thru the same drama again to fight for right.

M-45 could've been better if they'd had the artist I've just named, and still kept what they had. You know that was fine camera work with The American Idol winner when she srrolled over to what is left of the remaining Funk Bros. That was very decent of her that the camera men to capture that.

P.S.
Hey Stonewall,
How would it feel if you we're in Mary's shoes, whether right or right, how would you handle the pressure in her dilemma?

"I'm not hating on ya".

Besides expressing your disappointed feelings on this S.D.F. board -- do that, too, of course -- U could actually, instead of just venting, DO something by calling and/or faxing the two "MOTOWN 45" producers in Los Angeles:

JEFF P. MARGOLIS
JOHN F. HAMLIN

FYI, some more, not much, 411 added to the songs of MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS at:

Topic: MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS =not= on "MOTOWN-45" Show!

No, Randy -- and, of course, bro #1, Tony -- and all other interested parties, neither producer (shamefully listed below), nor anyone on their staffs, had not even the common courtesy or the basic decency -- especially to popular soulful music icons, inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, among other musical recognitions -- to contact the classic Motown legends MARTHA REEVES =or= THE VANDELLAS (they're humans, too) to inform them that -- like Boys II Men -- they were inexplicably, rudely and unjustifiably 'edited out' of the actual M-45 show! It surely was not because of their praised performance from the actual Motown event (4/4/4). Their appearance is AAA-1, too, especially with those appropriate and classy goldish-toned, shimmering dresses that they wore. M.R.V. was in great form in all ways -- including energetic and lively.

When a member in Canada posted the previous late night (after 1 o'clock in the morning) that he didn't see M.R.V. or B-II-M on the C.B.C. version of "M-45", hardly anyone read that evil omen, and for anyone who did, we figured that he just "missed" a part of the show (how would we know?) =or= that it was the Canadian version, perhaps, more t.v. commercials, less time for the show or whatever. It was absolutely unimaginable and unthinkable that M.R.V. could not be on the show! That knowledge, even if verified, would not have helped ease the blow anyway. Martha had to be at the Detroit t.v. studio at 7 a.m. and, in fact, she was going to sleep when Bless U and I got off the phone with the diva on Sunday nite at about 11 p.m. But these producers sure knew they had cut M.R.V. out! ABC-tv surely knew. The production staffs deliberately and recklessly withheld this 411 yet continued to promote M.R.V. as being on the show, as so many on this Board have confirmed. One of our members even posted above, the morning of May 17 (while I was sound asleep), yet another news article confirming yesterday that Martha Reeves & The Vandellas are on the show. When I read that at noon yesterday, when I woke up,I thought to myself, "Whew!"

Martha Reeves and The Vandellas only found out about this musical travesty and undisputable disgrace yesterday morning, May 17th, the very day of the "M-45" t.v. special. Believe it or not, it was more by happenstance through the local media, in-person grapevine. It was also in an unworthy and embarrassing manner after Diva REEVES was at the local ABC-TV studios in Detroit, ironically, for a Motown interview regarding "M-45". The local papers even ran a headline story: "Jimmy Mack, when are U coming back?" As many of U know, I thoughtfully posted this 411 here to inform SDF-ers in the Detroit area so that our local D-members might have the opportunity to see that a.m. show. Many did! (Yes, I rec'd your e-mails of appreciation and enjoyment of the "Good Morning, Detroit" show.)

Although that show displayed some clips of the M-45 show, Miss MARTHA curiously asked them after her interview segments why they didn't include a clip of their performance, "Dancing In The Street", on "M-45"? That's when they sadly revealed to her that, surprisingly and unfortunately, M.R.V. was not on the promotional show tape that they received! Everyone was perplexed. After all, MARTHA went way out of her way and flew to Los Angeles from England in the middle of a successful tour and LOIS and DELPHINE flew from Detroit to Los Angeles to do this "M-45" show. (They still have not received payment!) The television commercials for "M-45", as recently as yesterday and right up until showtime, were displaying Martha Reeves in the t.v. ads! Of course, Martha saw them. For two, we'd call that false and misleading advertising!

I shall not go into details now, however, besides the humiliation and the insult and the depravation to the viewers of more real Motown, M.R.V. regretfully had to cancel a big party that was going to held in their honor at the previously "quiet-as-it-is-kept" location, the famed Roostertail in Detroit. U all recall, M.R.V. did their "live" Motown album which was recorded there! The very special party was to celebrate M.R.V.'s appearance on the big "M-45". U can't "celebrate" when U are cut-out.

Ironically, I was informed and shocked by this when Martha disappointedly yet thoughtfully and personally called me midday from MI to NY. She phoned to relate, as she said, "...some bad news to report", so that I, and others, would not be shocked by seeing the "M-45" show and not seeing them. When we got off the phone, I immediately called the offices of both production offices -- plus Motown Records (innocent this time). All of this oddly happened in the middle of a moment having just received a concerned and assuring e-mail message from SDF's Lowell, of dealing with an internet sniper attacking me on this board the night before, whom I complained about. Some people's agenda is to not be entertaining and/or informative but to be mean! That seemingly can happen anywhere, as I was reminded of -- twice -- yesterday.

Someone (or probably ones) is responsible for being foolish and mean to all three of the talented and lovely ladies ***M.R.V.*** -- and their endless friends, families, colleagues and fans!!! As U all must know, Martha really luvs all of her fans. I, of course, cancelled my announced M-45 dinner party out of respect to M.R.V. I let her know that. Needless to say, but I will anyway, I reached out to Miss M last eve a few times to be comforting and encouraging after the full frontal assault blow she wrongly endured. Quite frankly, she handled it much better and calmer than me and the "N.Y.C. Palz of M.R.V." I agree with 95% on this S.D.F. board who rightfully panned that "M-45" show. It was only 50%, at best.

Remember, the SDF-ers -- to our great and combined credit -- chose "MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS" as our #1 classic Motown artist that we were most anxious to see on M-45. (THE FOUR TOPS were the runner-up.) Martha was gratefully pleased when I told her of that non-stop win throughout the "Countdown to M-45". She really appreciates that, everyone. Instead, millions of people -- endless amounts of younger people (30 and under) for the very first time -- were deprived of seeing and enjoying M.R.V. but instead saw non-singer CEDRIC rolled out once again and to allegedly "sang" and yet a second!! appearance (two too many, IMO) in the show of KIMBERLY Something, an "American Idol" loser, to team up for a really bad duo, "It Takes Two". In fact, I now know (as I'm sure U do, too) that is the point when many people literally could not take it any longer and turned off their televisions. That is also the point where everyone was supposedly to see M.R.V. That aforementioned duo disaster was senselessly =instead of= seeing a Motown legend, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, authentically and excitingly performing the MARVIN GAYE-penned, international #1, much-covered, everlastingly popular Motown anthem: "Dancing In The Street".

Besides expressing your disappointed feelings on this S.D.F. board -- do that, too, of course -- U could, actually, instead of just venting, DO something by calling and/or faxing the two "MOTOWN 45" producers in Los Angeles:

JEFF M. MARGOLIS
JOHN F. HAMLIN

Web: www.JeffMargolisProductions
Tel.: (310) 235-1030
E-mail: reception@JeffMargolisProductions.net
Fax: (310) 235-1032

Let 'em hear it!

Disappointedly,

SW = Stonewall!

Note: Unrelated to "M-45" and/or the M.R.V. situation, to answer your "?", this is my self-decided only post at this time. (No TMI here.)

FYI, some more 411 has been added to the single-release songs of MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS:

The show last night was so-so IMHO, although there was some high points (e.g., Gladys Knight & "The Pips"; Mary, Cindy and Kelly, The Funk Bros.) that really stood out in the midst of the more mediocre ones
(Kimberley Locke's rendition of "What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted"), and even more embarassing ones (Wayne Brady is no Stevie Wonder!); but anyhoo, Stonewall, my sentiments exactly! It's just an utter lack of respect and decency the producers did Martha Reeves like that, and I too should complain! But overall folks, the Motown 45 special will never, ever capture the legendary glory and the once-in-a-lifetime magic that occured in the Motown 25 special 20 years ago. So let's remember that folks, and just keep listening to the "Motown Sound" that we've always enjoyed.

I agree. The Golden Era is over. Alot of these people are old and way beyond their prime. The young singers didn't do the legacy justice. Unfortunately, the Vandellas probably got cancelled because their performance wasn't all that good and they are not that well known anymore. I really wonder if Berry and Suzanne can do better. I'm starting to have my doubts about that even. Sad.........the show did not do the legacy any justice and truly has not been well received at all.

Right, Jobete Rob, to be back at, or at for the first time, Soulful Detroit Forum. There are many people here whom U know. Thanx for your reports Sunday night after the M-45 showing in Canada on CBC. In fact, the next day when I read that M.R.V. was not on the Canadian M-45, I presumed that it was a somewhat different version.

Wrong, Jobete Rob, I'm pleased to state, on the reason for that M.R.V. omission. Your guess was not the case. Look, I recently saw them do 22 songs with a great, as always, performance on each! The newspapers today reported that the producers confirmed that there were serious sound engineering difficulties with the total performance of "Dancing In The Street" by the energetic MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS. Their set-up as well as that song itself were quite different from the other numbers on the show.

BERRY & SUZANNE will, of course, do much, much better as always. They know the material, the artists, the songs, the film clips, etc., etc. And, fortunately, they don't know "Ced-drec" or "Kimburley". Let's look forwrd to it.
