The Lead vocalist was James Williams, heavy in statue, but light on his feet with lots of energy. Any Information on D Train? |

Hi Medusa! I'll try to get some info. I loved his fast stuff, but, my favorite song is Oh, How I Love You Girl from his Miracles Of The Heart LP. That was a great duet with Audrey Wheeler & people sleep on this one. God that song was beautiful! |

I remember James "D-Train" Williams's "Oh How I Love You Girl". It got considerable play here in Chi Town. The song came out about 1989-90, I think? In a Westwood One interview he said he was doing jingles for tv and radio, and writing more music. D-Train said something about doing an gospel cd. |

The last I heard of "D" Train is that he is living somewhere down South....Virginia, I think...and yes, he is still making music, even though it is not on as grand a scale as it was back in the day...I heard him on a radio show sometime last year and he let the listeners know what he was up to. |

If it wasn't for D-Train and his key & syn partner there wouldn't have been groups and writer/producers like The System, Jam & Lewis and LA & Babyface. Him and his key/syn wiz partner set the trend for house, techno and club mix dance music. Even the hip hop deejays pulled their records out when a lot of the breakin' and poplocking dances came back in the 80's. |

All I heard is that one fast song YOU'RE THE ONE FOR ME...I used to skate to that song! Loved to bounce to that! I need to look into more material form them as I didn't know that they had more songs...all we ever heard was what I have mentioned. |

I used to DJ at a skating rink in those days & D-Train was HUGE here in NY. As James was a Football star & a fellow Brooklyn boy, it's needless to say that I was proud. I have a few more recent pictures of him that I can't post. I can send them to anyone interested. They're from a show that he did a few years ago. Medusa, if you're interested, I can send you a copy the the song mentioned above. Peace! Juice |

Just to let you know.....James D-Train Williams is definetely alive and well and still recording too. However, the stuff he's done throughout the last couple of years is way different than his 80s output. in 2000 he fronted two songs ("Darlin'" and "Got To be free") for the "Champs Elysees" album released by french house music artist Bob Sinclar. I have no idea whether the album was released stateside though. D-Train also did some vocal work for for saxophone player Donald Harrison in the mid-nineties. |

Hi All. Also to add to everyone's info. James "D-Train" Williams has also been doing back-up vocals on projects, like Will Downing's version of "I Don't Want To Lose You", (also recorded by the Spinners & Phyllis Hyman). You can hear his voice shining in the background. My favorites are: Keep On The Shadow of Your Smile You're the One For Me Child of Love Something's On Your Mind In Your Eyes Handsome

Turn to Music Choice on Digital Cable or Satellite and check out either the "Classic Disco" or "Classic R&B" channels and you will hear "You're The One For Me" in heavy rotation on a weekly basis. One of my favorite dance songs ever. |

James D-Train Williams is indeed alive. I spoke to him (and his wife) a few days ago and he is doing very well. He is currently in the studio recording new songs for his upcoming album titled "701 Franklin Avenue". All of the songs are written by James. He also have a full time jobb making radio on a satalite station based in NYC. And yes he's still doing the club scene (with a new partner instead of Hubert Eaves). James hope to complete his new album in 2004. Best wishes, Andreas Hellingh

I'm glad to see he'll be coming out with some new material soon.. I haven't been up to speed with some of his more recent work, but I know he made some contributions to Natalie Cole's "Snowfall On The Sahara" album (a great album btw!) |

Yhe first I heard of James "D-Train" Williams when he came on the scene in 78 & 79. I never owned any of his lp's because they sold like wildfire, I should know, cause I worked at record stores. These are some songs i'm quite filmiliar with Keep giving me love Oh, how I love you girl What would you do without the music Just another night without your love You are everything It's in your eyes Something on your mind You're the one for me Misunderstanding walk on by The shadow of your smile Keep on
