112 aboard as of one hour ago and climbing rapidly. Soon all will wish to come over as the main forum will be dead ended - readable but no more posting allowed. |

I like the new format expect for the fact that you have to scroll DOWN to read the last post. Hopefully, this can be changed. Overall it is a great improvement. Thanks Lowell. |

On any forum it's a case of "swings and roundabouts" - you either have to scroll down to read the latest posts, or - if new posts are at the top - scroll down to read what you missed |

I've been looking for the "create new discussion" button and can't find it! Is it that I've totally lost my mind????? Also curious as to what the words "Debutant", "Arriviste" and "Pundit" mean under our user names. I am an "arriviste". I hope that's something good Nikki |

Thanx Lowell & David for your response. I either didn't see the other thread, or it came after I posted my question earlier on this one Anyway, I wasn't concerned, just curious what those words meant. I always associated the word "debutant" with a wealthy FEMALE, so I found it odd listed next to many of the MALES who post on this forum!!! LOL! Nikki |

Nikki: We males have not been offended, as "debutant(e), meaning coming into society of a young woman is spelt with the French final e. "Debutant" is the male and neuter form. Those names that came with this forum's programme are funny. I think they should be adaptable to the forum's topic. What titles should we use, if we can make our own?: under 500, Soulful rookie? 500-1000, Sophmore of Soul? 1000-2000 Veteran of Soulful Posts? 2000-3000, Valuable Contibutor To Soulful Discussions? 3000-5000, Windbag of Soul? 5000-10,000, Soul Forum Junkie? Over 10,000, "Soul In Need A Life"? Actually, isn't the total posts figure self evident enough? There are some weird people on other forums, who often make meaningles, off-topic posts just to announce that this is their ***** (milestone number) post! Then, there are follow-up posts by others, congratulating them. Oops! I guess this post by me falls into that category. I hope you'll all forgive me. |

Hey Robb! Those Soulful acronyms sound great. However, as regards "Debutante" & its neuter form, "Debutant" ...I'm sure that you can understand that, as a man "neutering" is an uncomfortable thought for me. Seriously though, this is the first forum that I've ever been involved with. I never once considered that people actually keep records of their postings. I'm a Softball Player & keep records, but forum posts???? WOW! How do these folks rate their posts? How do they determine the equivalent of a strikeout, homerun, or a double play for that matter? Or is the sheer number of posts that counts? Sound a bit strange to me. Aaahh, the naivety of being a newbie. The Similac is definitely leaving my system, I'm learning that the www. can be a very strange place. Peace Juice |
