Hello again, soulful brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers! After more than a month without disturbing all of you wiyh my pathological Philly obsession, i wanna knows (if somebody have some info) what happened with the period of Gamble & Huff productions betwen the end of their deal with Emi-Manhattan and the beginning of their deal with Zoo Entertainement-BMG. I only knows have some singles as "Run Jessie Run" by Lou Rawls, Rev. james Cleveland and Phyllis Hyman that appears under the label "Gamble-Huff Records". Somebody knows if Rev. James Cleveland have a album under the production of G & H and / or the catalogue and artists of this period? Any info is a enormous treasure for me. Many thanks to all. Also, of the PIR-Zoo period i only have the "I Salute You" Cd by The Dells and some Phyllis Hyman tracks in a compilation ("Phylladelphia"), Any info of this other period is also appreciated. Peace, Soul Food & patience and understanding with this philly obsessed |

Hey Manny -- don't worry. Your obsession is shared with others here. I gotta have my Philly music (Sweeties!) and my Cindy Mizelle CD. Other than that ... it's all good, but ya gotta have what ya gotta have!

Hi, Linda Di! Thanks for your friendly words. I knows you and others are great Philly lovers, but sometimes when i speak about Philly i'm feel like a "intruder" (smile!) because this forum is called "Soulful Detroit" (i love also Stevie, the Miracles, Marvin and Tempts and all the Motown Jerry Butler discography and the Chi-sound!). I have a Cd by Masters At Work that featured as background vocalists Cindy Mizelle, Lisa Fisher, Paulette McWilliams and Bennie Diggs. Is the only thing i have by this precious woman. In another trhead i remember i posted a photo of Cindy with Roy Ayers and Cindy appears smoking a great cigar. This thread was about beatiful womans in soul music and this pick is very sensual. Peace & Soul Food |

Manny if my memory serves me right I think there was also a Dexter Wansel CD on the ZOO label... I can't remember the name, but the art cover displayed some kind of mystical logo... Wonder B If you mess with the 'fro, you gotta go! |

Manny. Here's a PHYLIS HYMAN biography. As you will see her "Prime of My Life" C.D. was released by Zoo records. http://members.tripod.com/~low ando/biog.html I have this C.D. Its well worth a listen, when I first got it I had my parents to stay for a few days and I started to play the C.D. Half way through my dad announced "You can dance to this" and he spent the next 20 minutes or so doing a "solo waltz" around my kitchen!! Roger |

Yes, Wonder B, you're right. Many thanks. I don't have this Cd; i have search it unfructuously and only have see the cover art in a web site ( i think was in Soul Walking). Really is by Universe featuring Dexter Wansel and the cover is a scud or a heraldic motive. BTW i remember you says in another trhead that you're from France. Are you casually from the south of the country? I comes some times to practique canyoning at the French Catalonian (Conflent, Canigou, Prades) and Gavarnie. Also the Guara mountains in Aragon (the paradise of canyoning!) was a french discovering and allways have much more french people than spaniards! Peace & Soul Food |

Don't forget www.gemm.com. You can find lots of out-of-print CDs and records there. Manny, I never saw that photo of Cindy, but would love to. I had the chance to meet her several times and she's one of the best. |

The Dells had one CD on the Philadelphia International/Zoo Entertainment label entitled "I Salute You" which came out in the Summer of 1992. It was their 40th Anniversary album. The cover is is rather interesting because they're all posed in nautical wear with the NY Skyline behind them with the WTC in the background. |
