How could Eric Benet be such a fool? The man had one of the most desirable women in the world in Halle Berry and blew it because he couldn't keep it in his pants. Halle finally had enough of the endless parade of groupies that Eric couldn't seem to resist and gave him his walking papers. She just recently filed for divorce after nearly 3 years of marriage. When will people learn that meaningless, mindless trists are not worth blowing your marriage? |

I won't knock his music Mike, because he's done some great tracks, but I suspect he has a fragile ego and was probably insecure with her success. Interesting question regarding why people stray. No easy answer to that one, but for those that do, they deserve all they get. www.solarradio.com The Home Of Soul (Message edited by felstead2001 on April 28, 2004) |

I'm not talking about his music, he's a good singer and songwriter. It's just sad how some people can have a good thing and throw it all away on bulls---. Let me find a great woman who loves me unconditionally and respects me as a human being and I will be hers lock, stock and barrel forever. |

She's Beautiful and all but seems to me this is her 2nd marriage, maybe she has a problem, and it's not about her looks either, since Beauty is only skin deep (Isn't there a song about that)? ...and if he couldn't keep it in his pants, I guess her looks didn't keep him home either. I think she has the problem, not the Men. |

It could be a bit of both. Her first husband, David Justice said she was a bit selfish. Whenever she had movie-related affairs to attend, she expected him to be there for her 24/7, but when he had baseball-related affairs to attend, it would be a different story. But since we don't personally know Halle or David or Eric, we really don't know the details. Eric's problems are a matter of public record, so that's also an issue in itself. I really hoped they would make it through. It's really too bad and I hope Eric gets the help he needs for his "addiction" and that Halle can finally find a man who will love her without the drama and they can grow old together. |

Hi Medusa! Where you been sis, I've really missed you. Hope to see more of you up in here. On the subject of the break up of the marriage, we can all speculate as to who is at fault. However as in any relationship it "takes two", (there's a song about that). Relationships are not an easy proposition, there must be give and take, understanding, compassion and a willingness that you want to make it work. If any of these elmements are missing than it is time to move on. It is better to end the relationship on a high note rather than a low note (musically speaking). |

I wouldn't be so quick to pass such blanked judgement on someone else's relationship afterall it has been reported in the news that David Justice was physically & mentally abusive. As far as entertainer's that can't keep their pants on, I have to agree that person is weak, immature, and most definately insecure about his own manhood. Was it worth it, no, for a conquest like that of jumping from groupy to groupy is no conquest at all! Was Eric ever thinking how his behavior was effecting his own daughter.(?) I think not unless he's so dumb & calous. Like Vonnie said in the end there is two sides to every story. Not to mention being in the public with demands pulling at them from everywhere all the time is not easy for a relationship to thrive especially when both partners have public careers of their own. As Teena Marie sang "Everyone wants a peice of the pie thats you and I", from personal experience its so true! Thats my 2 cents for what its worth (smile). S.S. |

Hi All. Who knows what was going on between the both of them? And like someone mentioned previously, Beauty is Only Skin Deep. You can be with the most beautiful/handsome person physically, but their inside can be very ugly. Personally, I'm interested in an individual who loves me inside out, not outside in. JMO P.S.-I love Eric Benet's Music, which has nothing to do with him as a person! I can separate the 2. Handsome |

Vonnie, Holler girl. I think sometimes men get caught up in the outer beauty and never really examine the inner beauty. THe concept of getting to know a person is null and void these days...long engagements and 'courting' are a thing of old...and then the beauty of a relationship is never found. Im an 'old school girl' when it comes to that kind of stuff. From a 'street assessment' point of view, Halle has some issues that deal with abandonment, personal relationships, abuse (physical) and drug...let alone her own battle with diabetes. She probably will need to do some extended soul searching before getting involved with anyone again...and as for Eric Benet...well...his issues are up front...pun intended and not intended...he has 'organic' issues that he needs INTENSE therapy about... |

I have to agree with Soul Sister & Vonnie. In regards to Hallie & Eric, it does take two to make it and two to break it. Marriage has its challenges and having two people who each have demanding careers (and personalities) can make it even more so. In regards to Hallie's marriage to David Justice and its breakup (which was documented in Ebony Magazine), even Hallie's mother told her that she needed to get herself together and not be so selfish. At the same time, David's temper and abuse did as much damage. Who knows what happened between Hallie & Eric other than his alleged infidelity (which he did try to rectify). A "show-biz" marriage is very challenging to maintain because the entertainment industry demands so much from those who work in the field. For example, Quincy Jones is probably one of the industry's most successful music creators yet the commitment to his craft took up so much of his time that it cost him three marriages. Hi Mike, You know Hollywood marriages is just fairy tale BS in the first place. How ever's the bread winner in the relationship tends to be a bit carried away, and always get rid of the other partner, even when they started out together and had nothing. I'm not saying who's right, who's wrong. That's why I have a great respect for couples that has kept their marriages and families together. To give an exsample look at E: True Hollywood, like Goldie Hawn and Cher (especially of her treatment of Sonny Bono). Sources also tells me their marriage was more of an Robin Givens and Mike Tyson situation. Hallie knows what she's doing wrong and everyone knows this entirely already. Mike, Eric is not to blame. |

Y'all saw the pictures, y'all know my steelo, better recognize!!! ANYWAY, I wrote a normal man song for Ms Berry. It's done in Barry White style, it's a ballad, a love song. (In the key of Barry White) Don't act like a snob, and please don't bitch Bout how I don't wear dreads & how I'm not rich I'M POOR! Rat own, rat own for the poorness I can't drive you home in no shiny 'vette Can't even wisk you away in no private jet I'M BROKE! Rat own, rat own for the brokeness But if you pay attention, I'm sure you'll see That money's not all it's cracked up to be You need love! Rat own, rat own for the needin I don't have a house way up in the hills I got plenty bad credit & a bunch of bills Hey don't judge! Rat off, rat off for the judging Don't get hung up on the things I have not I'll buy you any meal Mickey Ds has got. Supersized! Rat own, rat own for supersizin Damn I'm stuffed, I can hardly breathe Say what baby girl? You say you're ready to leave Let me think. Rat own, rat own for the thinking You're a beautiful girl, no ifs ands or buts MY DAMN, you got a lovely pair of coconuts Got milk??? Rat own, rat own for the milkin Yawn, it's gettin late, I'm kind of tired chile I'm sleepy, hey you wanna lay down for awhile? I'll behave. Rat own, rat own for the lying! Well it looks like push is bout to come to shove I'm gonna wear your sweet body just like a glove Kinda tight. Rat own, rat own for the tightness I'll be gentle, I know that you're yearnin Damn it's hot, Is that your body burning? Feels good. Rat own, rat own for the feelin Turn up the music, turn on all the lights Like Mike Tyson, I may get a little cwazy toniite Wanna do it? Rat own, rat own for the doin Now where do we start, oh yes, right there I'm gonna swing like Tarzan from the chandelier OH OOH OOO. Rat own, rat own for the swingin (FADE OUT RAP) Thank you baby for bringing me your huddled masses yearning to be free. You just needed a taste....of Juice and I am he. Medusa, I agree with you...don't get me wrong, I like Halle a lot. But the woman has issues. She seems to be too needy, if you know what I'm saying. Eric may be insecure, but I believe Halle is also. She proposed to David Justice even when she knew that he was seeing other women, with the thought that she could change him....he ended up cheating on her. And she went through the same thing with Eric. She has an attraction to men who are not good for her, and she always seems to pick the same type of man...I honestly think she should have stayed with Larenz Tate...he was a younger man who obviously adored her but their relationship only lasted for about a minute. The fact that she is beautiful is not enough for her to keep the men she chooses to involve herself with, so it is pretty clear that something else is going on there... Hi NYC Diva; Good to see you posting again. Speaking of idiots as this thread implies, did anyone see Dateline tonight when Bobby Brown spoke of his marital problems, drugs, and the fact that Cissy never excepted him in their family, alot going on there as most of us suspected. Its still true there are two sides to every story, its never only all one way. Bobby needs to get his career together or something to do thats possitve so that he can earn his own money as a man instead of escaping deep into the substance abuse. Both of them. Hi Scandie! An MP3 is the compression method used to shrink an audio file. Are you saying that you need an MP3 Player? I have a Rio Volt MP3 player that costs $59 after rebate. This is a portable discman that plays CDs & MP3s, burned on CD. Exactly what do you want to do with the unit?? Will you be using it for the road, as part of a home unit? Units like this can be found cheaply at any major electronics chain. If you're still not sure, e-mail me at Juicefree@hotmail.com & perhaps I can answer or explain this more clearly. I hope that this helps! Juice |

Yes, Scandie. There are some like that. Some come with 10 - 20 Gig internal Hard drives. Those are expensive. There are smaller units sold by iRock, that use smart cards. Those are about $100. I forgot where you live, but if you have a store like Circuit City, Comp USA, Best Buy, Target, K-Mart or Radio Shack, I'm sure that you can find a reasonably priced unit. For more info about MP3 units, check cnet.com. Go to Audio & Search MP3 Players. Good luck Juice |

Hey Soul Sister!! NIce to know I was missed! LOL I didn't see the Dateline interview, but I think it's kind of refreshing to hear Bobby finally speak on his own behalf. From what I can see, Bobby is dead in the industry and he may think that he doesn't have to work again as long as he has a wife who is willing to support him AND his other kids from previous relationships (what is THAT all about). But I do agree with you, that he needs to get himself together. I sincerely hope that he and Whitney DO get it together, because I do think they do love each other, but the substance abuse will end up destroying them in the end. My prayers are with both of them. |

Something about Halle Barry I have never really liked I don't think she's all that great although she's a good actress every since she made Queen (I's negra ,I's Negra )please spare me I think the reason she gets all these props is because her mother is white .I have always thought maybe some of her man problems were her owne insecurities are wanting to much .Umm don't know tho hopefully she and Eric will find the right somebodies !Shawn |
