N.Y.P.D. ! God I love that show ! New York City was the real star in that show. The cast was outstanding. Robert Hooks as Jeff Ward, Frank Converse as Johnny Corso and Jack Warden as Lt Mike Hanes. As a matter of fact, Al Pacino made his first acting appearence on there. He played a southern racist that was chased up north by black militants. NYPD was aired on ABC-TV from 1967 to 1969. Filmed on location in NYC, the producers used 16mm film to make the series (that's why the show had a real gritty feel). My favorite episode was a two-parter with James Earl Jones guest-starring as a street-wise dealer. Now, my favorite shows from the other networks: CBS-TV Mission: Impossible (rest in peace, Greg Morris) The Melba Moore & Clifton Davis Show Hudson Brothers Show Jacksons (variety show) Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour Wiseguy (starring Ken Wahl as agent Vincent Terranova) Shaft (aired on CBS-TV for a year and half starring Richard Roundtree) Carol Burnett Show Ed Sullivan Show M*A*S*H (gotta love it...) Roll-Out (sitcom about Black soldiers during Korean War, created by same producers as M*A*S*H) The Incredible Hulk ("Mr. Maghee, don't make me angry...You wouldn't like me when I'm angry!") Captain Kangaroo (RIP Bob Keehan...) NBC-TV Flip Wilson Show Bonanza Police Woman Tenafly (drama about a Black detective) McMillian & Wife (Rock Hudson & Susan Saint James looked great together) Columbo (Peter Falk rules!) The Magician (Bill Bixby starring as a private investigator whose primary occupation was that of an illusionist) The Devlin Connection (Rock Hudson in short-lived series about a secret agent) The Cosby Show Fame Star Trek (both the live action and animated series) Kevin Goins - KevGo

Hey Dyva, Yes I do have a copy but I don't know what condition it's in, as far sound quality. The James Earl Jones episode is also my favorite one as well. He played the character, Candy who ran the Phoenix House on the East side. It was a two parter episode. Charles Gross did the outstanding jazz score for the show. During the filming of that particular episode, James Earl Jones was appearing as Jack Johnson on the Broadway play, " The Great White Hope". Jeffersons-CBS Muppet Show-CBS? Cosby Show-NBC Different World-NBC...I love it when Lisa Bonet was on...I liked it after then, but once Dwayne and Whitley got married, I was still watching it, but my interest had already left. Fame-NBC AND let's not forget Smurfs-NBC...hey I loved them! |
