Parliaments - Poor Willie b/w Party Boys - APT Records (45-25036) Parliaments - You Make Me Wanna Cry b/w Lonely Island - Flipp Records (FL-45-101) Lars - I believe these are the Parliaments first two releases. The Cabell & Symbol releases are totally unfamiliar to me. Do you think there was a 2nd group of Parliaments? Any other info on these?

Hi Rich According to the Soul Harmony Singles book the Cabell release should be the same group as the Parliaments on APT, Flipp and Revilot. The Parliaments on Symbol is more uncertain. Unfortunately I have no more info on these releases and I do not have the actual 45's. Thank you for the info on the two first releases. |

Lars I have found out that the Parliaments on those labels (Cabell & Symbol) are NOT the Parliaments led by G.Clinton... I did own a while back those singles and believe me they have nothing to do with the other group. (plus record dealers sell them to you at very high prices trying to make you believe that they ARE the real Parliaments!) I asked George himself during one of the interviews I did wit him and he said they weren't his group... Wonder B |

I've been sreaching thru the sreach box at cd.COM and Towerrecords.COM, and I found a song made by The Parliaments on a 50's rhythm & blues, rock 'n roll compliation. I forgot the name of the comp, I lost some notes. I don't know if it was done by George's group? The song is titled Shonda Mae? |

Don, I've heard of Tamala Lewis - who wrote some songs with George Clinton, and recorded too. Is this the woman you're refering to?

And how about another rare 45... I have another 45 by the same guy (another Clinton prod) but under the name Roy Handy & the Parlettes on the MARTON label I found it about 15 years ago, but I heard that now you gotta win the lottery to be able to get it (if there's one for sale!) I need to scan it too... Wonder B If you mess with the 'fro, you gotta go! |

Don, do you know for sure that Tamala Lewis was the sister of Diane and Pat? Tamala was with George Clinton and The Parliaments and Roy Handy in New York, writing for Raynoma (Liles )Gordy's Jobete Music (East). Her marton record was a NY record. I had thought that she was from New York, and only got involved with Golden World and Solid Hitbound Productions through the Parliaments. If she was their sister (and also from Detroit), why wasn't she in The Adorables, and why didn't she record any other records in Detroit? |

The late-Vivian "Tamala" Lewis, was from Newark, the mother of George's oldest child Tracey (Trey-Lewd) and is unrelated to Diane & Pat Lewis. Don - Never heard of "Shonda Mae" but its interesting that GC's grandaughter who performs with his band is named Shonda. BTW - if you search eBay for Roy Handy, there's a link to a 1 minute sound-clip of "Accidental Love" |

Hey Rich, It was only rummored and it was believed to be true, although I had my doubts somewhat though I really all was not sure? I assumed it to have been true. I'm glad this fact is now corrected. Thanks Ralph. |

I heard of an unreleased track on Ms. Lewis called "Keep A Hold On Me". I was wondering was it suppose to a Motown, Reviolt, Golden World/Ric Tic or a Solid Hit Bound release. It was rummored at one time that Diane was suppose to have many songs in the cans in the Motown Vaults? |

Don: the unreleased track of "Keep A Hold On Me came from a tape I had that was cut at Golden World so if it would have been issued on Golden World/Ric-Tic unless it was a Solid Hitbound Production which could have been issued after the sale of Golden World on Revilot/Solid Hit, but for sure it is one of the best unrelesed tracks ever to surface. |

Youy prpbably refer to the song "Daisy May" by The Parlaiments, which was released on a collection of Doo-Wop songs. George has listened to to track and said it it wasn't them... Eddie |
