Did you ever had dreams of your favorite artists one time or another? Dreams where some of your best loved performers sung a song or danced for you or even got involved into adventures or misadventures that you remember to this day? I had to memorable, but strange dreams about two artists that I love. The first one was about the O'Jays: strangely enough, they never showed up in my dream, but a name suggestion for a upcoming boxed set of all of their hits from the beginning to now. I was looking at this box set from them titled: "COMIN'THROUGH-THE O'JAYS ANTHOLOGY (1958-2003), I did not make this up! I really dreamed it! The second was about Earth, Wind & Fire: I was at the playground in some city I've never been to and all of a sudden, EWF (the original members from the '70s to be exact) shows up out of nowhere and asked me what were my favorite EWF songs. I said "Head To The Sky", "Mighty Mighty" and "Fantasy". They all jumped for joy and spinned me around on the merry-go-round; then I woke up because I could not believe I dreamed that dream. LIKE I SAID, STRANGE! So folks, what are your favorite musical dreams, no matter how good or strange they are!:-)

Not a musical dream but at the risk of some of you telling me I need to get out more, many years ago now, I remember having a very vivid dream involving one of my favourite american icons.

The dream started with my eyes closed and I was aware I was travelling upward, at high speed.
There was a shwiee sound, and as I opened my eyes I found myself walking out of a turbolift and on to the bridge of the original USS.Enterprise.

Standing right by his chair was yes, you guessed it, Captain James T Kirk.

I was dumbstruck, and in awe of this hero of mine. He beckoned me over, and asked me to conduct a sensor sweep for any unusual readings off the port bow.

As I did this I was acutely aware that I could smell all the sort of smells that you'd expect to smell standing on the bridge, and all the background sound of senors, monitors etc working away.
Just as Spock walked on to the bridge, something made me wake up, and the dream stopped. I was totally disorientated for a split second as it all seemed so real to me.

Have always been a big fan of the moral messages that the show tried to promote, and have never been even close to having another dream about that since.

Never had a dream about fave musicians.

Ok,ok I know, I'll just slip back into the therapy room. :-))

I once dreamed of going to a night club and watching Marvin Gaye. I was then delighted when he came and joined me at the table. This was of course, subconscious wishful thinking. I never got to see Marvin perform and this dream happened long after he'd left us....

The other dream is just surreal and ironic... I had to drive into town for a meeting with Diana Ross, but delay after delay held me up in traffic until I was running hours late, and getting more anxious by the minute. (Anyone who knows me will realise just how ironic this dream was - considering how much of a Diana Ross fan I am!) ;o)

I've had a lot of dreams with a lot of singers in them. Most of my dreams had Marvin and Tammi, Smokey Robinson, David Ruffin, and Selena in them.

I'll write at least two at a time. Maybe three. Depending on how bored I am.

The first one took place in a mansion. In it, were pictures of Tammi as an adult. Then I ran into Tammi herself and she fell. It scared me to death.

The second one took place in my room. I was listening to "We'll Be Satissfied". As soon as song cut off, Marvin started teasing Tammi. Tammi told him to shut up(yes, she said shut up), but he didn't. Every time Marvin teased her, Tammi became less serious until finally, they both started cracking up. I even started to crack up too.

This one took place in Corpus Christi--no, it was San Antonio because I saw the Alamo. I was at an concert when I saw Selena singing "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom". Then everyone starting singing "Happy Birthday" to her. She was really happy because tears were coming from her eyes. Then she sat down next to me and I wiped away her tears.

This next one took place in a street. These boys were teasing me and I was cuddled up in a fetal position. Then Marvin came and helped me up. We both went into the studio together. Then Tammi came near me and I kept inching away from her. Then I finally found the courage to go near her. She told me not to be afraid.

I don't know if this one is funny or not. You can be the judge of it. All I remember is that Tammi was walking in a park and Marvin put his foot out and he tripped as she was walking toward David and she fell on David's leg. The next thing I know David and Tammi ran after Marvin. I was laughing as I was hiding behind a tree. I'll talk more later.

I dreamt of Prince and I around 1984 when PURPLE RAIN came out...nuff said! Let's just say that at 10 years old, I was very embarrased when I woke up! :-)

Then, I had a dream of Jermaine Jackson singing to me...he sang DO WHAT YOU DO. We were at a resort in the islands and he had on a white suit and I had on a white one shoulder dress with a long split on the right side of the dress and white strappy heels. I was about 14/15.

I dreamt of Marvin Gaye, singing to me at a night club...it seemed so real to me and strange at the time because I was 16 (in 1990) and he was gone for some time. I remember MY LAST CHANCE was released at that time. He had on a black pinstripe suit with a red ascot and I had on a red halter gown with strappy red heels. He touched my face and I just melted! He sang MY LAST CHANCE.

I think this dream took place after reading Smokey Robinson's autobiography. I was about 15/16 and he was singing to me CRUSIN' at a night club, in fact the same night club Marvin was in. He had on a cream Nehru suit with a gold medallion and I had on a royal blue halter jumpsuit and cream strappy sandals.

I remember the outfits so vividly because although there were other people there, our outfits were brighter than everyone else's.

Hey guys. Lady, I got to give you props. Those are some cool dreams. Here are the rest of my musical dreams.

I don't know if I told you about this one yet. This one took place in a field near a hill on a sunny, breezy autumn day. I was just getting ready to jump in a pile of leaves when I heard Marvin and Tammi's version of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" being played somewhere in the field. Now normally when that happens, the dynamic duo isn't too far away. Sure enough, there they were coming down the hill. The weird part about it was that they were riding on horseback. Tammi was doing really well. She must have ridden horseback growing up in Philly. Marvin on the other hand, didn't do too well. He was bucked off the horse, went flying over my head halfway across the field. When Tammi and I finally found him, Marvin landed in a pumpkin patch and he was walking around with a pumpkin on his head. It was about an hour before Tammi and I stopped laughing to help Marvin.

I love the second one. This one took place a week before my birthday two months ago. I was wearing this beautiful burgandy gown. Someone told me that they had a birthday surprise for me at my old school. So there I was waiting in this silky gown looking stupid. All of the sudden I heard music. I turned around and I saw Smokey Robinson singing "Just To See Her"! He was actually singing to me! We were dancing together. I felt like a princess being swept around by a king. At the end of the song, he put his hands behind his back and pulled out a bouquet of roses and gave them to me! He kissed me on my forehead and told me I was a beautiful young lady. I'm so glad Smokey's down here for Jazz Fest. I hope I get to meet him.

Well, I had several dreams about artist performing for me in a dream. I discussed some before on here and now I must share again.

There was the one I had when I was in the lobby of the FOX Theater and Berry Gordy was impressed with me and how I was doing things for the music world. Then we went to the award show held there and he sat next to me.

Then there was the one Where Nat "King" Cole was singing and he said something about Ella Fitzgeald and that she was right behind him.

There are so many others I have had about me being a record producer, even the one I had last night about me in the studio watching musicians auditioning for me and I woke up this morning happy about that one.

But there are others but I only have shared a few. Oh!, Wait!, there is also the one when I was at my parents home in the dinng room, and I was listening to the radio and 7 of my artist had seven spots o the billboard charts, that is the most memorable one.

Dreams are powerful, and I think they send a string message for what your purpose may bein life.

I'm almost too ashamed to disclose this one........ I once dreamt that I was a Spice Girl.

I swear that I was never a fan - honest, and I have no idea why they would feature in my dream. It was in their early days, and even then I was much too old to be one, but there I was skipping across the stage in a ridiculous outfit and apparently feeling pretty happy about it.

There. I said it. Have to go lie down awhile to recover. Why couldn't I have been a Supreme or someone worth dreaming about???

If any of you SFDs are good at interpreting dreams, perhaps you can tell me what it meant. But please go easy on me, because it was very hard to confess.

I know what all my dreams have in common: they all include famous singers and most of them are dearly departed from this world. All the dreams that had Tammi Terrell in them must have meant that that was her way of talking to me. So were the others with Marvin, David, and Selena. As for the dream with Smokey Robinson in it must have meant that I was going to meet him.
