Hi GrahamD; Glad you enjoyed my husband's story. You watched the docu done by Bravo Profiles: Jazz Masters "The Life and Times of Jimmy Scott, Why Was I Born" directed by Melody McDaniels completed in 1998. Much has happened over the past 6 years, as well as a new docu thats not as informative but will be out on DVD in the upcoming months. In London you can find lots of Jimmy's CD's at Tower Records and Virgin Mega. He has about 40 CD's out which also includes compilations, guest appearances, & movie soundtracks. A new CD is comming out from Warner Jazz UK titled "The Definitive Jimmy Scott, Someone To Watch Over Me", I'll try to do a scan of the proposed jacket. Jimmy's bio by David Ritz (completed 3 years ago, also lots happened since then) is now out in soft-cover version. See threads in archives on Jimmy's life & career in PHOTOS on 'Search Forum' November 2003 as follows: 1.)Little/Legendary Jimmy Scott in Photos 2.)Jimmy Scott Discography in Photos 3.)Jimmy Scott and a few soulful friends (with celebraties) in Photos. Hi Juicebaby; How you doing? Things went quite well at Carnegie Hall. I didn't want to impose on this great event with my camera so I only took photos with Sting, and one of the producer's Narada Michael Walden who's always been a big fan of Jimmy's. Lots to report but must wait... I'm too tired to get into it, amongst other things I need to attend too, as we'll only be home about 10 days before heading out to LA & SF. I did take photos at the Tommy LiPuma tribute of everyone, the film in my camera is not completed so that must also wait a bit. Story & Photos to come.......with a little patience (smile)! Always, S.S. |

Hi Graham; Your correct some of the LP's will be hard to find, esp. the one on Ray Charles Tangerine label and we ourselves don't have the first one on Savoy "Very Truly Yours" my favorite jacket. The 45's on Coral, Sharp, King, etc...seem to be harder to come by than his 78's on Royal Roost! See my discography list in November 2003 archives. Thanks for the good wishes and all the best to You Graham & Rosy. We love the UK! Sincerely, S.S. |
