Hi! Has anyone heard this new single "Motor City Serenade" recorded by Stewart Francke and The Funk Brothers? Any thoughts about the song? And is it already available at the stores or only via Internet? Keep the Funk! -Funk Timo |

I have, and it's excellent. Here's the comment I posted on the Motown BB: 'To be honest, I'm always a little skeptical when someone claims "it has the classic Motown sound" but, listening with an open mind, I agree 100%. Motor City Serenade has all the hallmarks that defined the classic Motown sound - real instruments, a solid rhythm section (hey, Babbit!), thickly-textured vocals and a melodic hook that sticks in your mind and won't let go till you give in and play the record again. In this age of increasingly-soulless, mass-produced, computer-generated ersatz music, this is a breath of fresh air, and a welcome reassurance that real music can still exist in the 21st Century. Check it out!!!' The single isn't available in stores yet, but can be purchased online from Stewart's website. Take it from me, I can recommend this absolutely 100% - no argument http://www.stewartfrancke.com/ index.asp |
