I hope someone can help me. I bought this double CD collection of Brenda's on the Bestway label. It contains several redone versions of Brenda's hits plus a whole slew of material that I believe came from the Motorcity sessions. The CD does not give credit to writers or producers. How would I go about finding out this information, along with the years this material was recorded? |

Mike, your instincts are correct - they are all Ian Levine productions from the Nightmare/Motorcity era, which makes them basically 80s-90s recordings. BTW, Bestway is the mid-price subsidiary of the Goldmine label. |

U should be able to see BRENDA HOLLOWAY on the "Motown 45" t.v. special on May 17. Although B.H. is unfortunately not on stage performing, like Berry Gordy, Jr., The Contours, Scherrie Payne, and others, Brenda is there as a special guest up front in the audience. Tune in! |

The thing that I find interesting about this CD is the fact that on then back cover it states "For information on the writers and publishers of the tracks contained on this CD are detailed in booket", ya right. Once again people not giving credit where it is due let alone pay anybody royalties. Once you open the booklet you'll find no publishing information. Brenda Holloway herself didn't know about this CD being issued or have a copy for that matter. |

Excuse U, Mr. "J" using that dirty (literally) word! Actually, I know U will have a better day at the P.O. tmo -- especially on a Monday -- knowing that S & S are back on board. Thanx not only to a relieved Juice but to Soul Sister and Vonnie and others on other SDF files with your nice "Welcome Backs". And as Deon Jax sings, that "goes for Bobby and Marsha". |

Stonewall....I was surprised that the Brenda Holloway cd to which you refer doesn't give any credits...especially when on the back cover of the cd it says to look in the booklet for this information. I just got the cd and much sounds like earlier Ian Levine and some sounds more recent ...like he decided to ease up on the fake drum machine sound...some of the tracks are quite nice. John |
