Can anyone tell me who the male backing singer/s are on 'That's What Boys Are Made For'? My guess is Berry Gordy may be on there. Also, what about 'I Can't Believe You Love Me' or 'Come On And see Me'? I know Johnny Bristol & Harvey Fuqua wrote both songs and the Originals often did backing vocals before their debut Motown album but I can't be sure if it's either of them. |

More likely the Spinners - especially as they were Harvey's boys in the first place |

Thanks Ritchie. I kicked myself when I read your reply as I knew they did Motown BV's but criminally forgot about it. There's also a pic in Nelson George's 'book 'Where Did Our Love Go?' which shows them on stage backing Marvin Gaye so that should have given me enough of a hint!

I think Harvey Fugua is doing a lot of that. I remember meeting him in Calif. from Mary Wells and asking him about Tammi. And, of course, as everyone knows, Harvey IS a singer. |

Just bumping this back up again, to add this: On Tammi's I Can't Believe You Love Me, backing vocals were provided by Harvey, Johnny Bristol and Tammi herself, according to an interveiew Harvey gave in 2002 |

It's published on the Soul Patrol website. I found myself there by accident, after following a link from harveyfuqua.net (which is well worth a visit, BTW) |
