This is amazing. I love it when things like this turn up.
She looks so happy signing those autographs. You can feel the love.
Cool shades. Thanks for posting
Fun stuff !
Can that be Lamont Dozier with her?
Love this! Thank you! I also love those sun glasses.
Impressive find. Where did it come from?
Very cool to see candid footage like this. I get the feeling it was a chance encounter for the person filming that they just happened to see Miss Ross when the Supremes were in town doing a show at the Steel Pier. But I agree, cool shades!

Diana was possibly no more than a year and a half outta the projects and she already looks like a legend.
that's what i'm assuming too. looks like this was a home movie they took on a family trip to the Steel Pier and just happened to have footage of DR.
it's amazing when things like this pop up. there must be tons of random things like these in various people's homes, although the likelihood of them being found decreases every day. I went through and scanned a ton of slides from my grandparents' collection but i certainly didn't do every one. and so who knows what i might have missed [[i doubt anything supremes lol) but i did find that they performed at my college in Jan 1967. so i poked around in the yearbooks, the school newspaper, etc and found articles and stuff. i bet people took some personal pics of the events but have long forgotten them.
and let's not forget what was lost from the older gay fans that succumbed to the AIDS epidemic. die-hard fans in NYC and SFO that had pics and videos of them on tv and stuff. and when they passed, maybe those were all thrown away
Interesting you mention slides sup_fan. I'd relayed this story on the forum previously but it's long buried now so will tell it again. When my best girlfriend [our area f*g-hag and I say that absolutely lovingly, I miss her every day!] died almost 10 years due to a botched hernia surgery, our group of friends was tasked with clearing out her estate. Her mom lived a couple hours away and was disabled, so asked us to do most of it. At any rate, Aimee was a local book/ephemera dealer and avid auction goer. About a year previous she had bought a bunch of slides from a local man who moved here in the 60's from Detroit to open a camera/hobby shop. I found the box of slides in her garage. To be completely honest, I almost left them there, but something told me I should at least look through them before getting rid of them. I hauled them home and held a few up to the light, nothing too exciting. I bet I'd only looked at 6 or 8 of them when I held one up to the light and saw 3 girls in pink dresses standing at microphones! I think I yelled a couple expletives and a NO WAY!!, I knew right away who I was looking at! So after searching through many hundreds of slides, I found 5 never before seen images of the Supremes at the 1965 Michigan State Fair. It helped that I found a little square of paper that said 1965 Michigan State Fair, but I probably would have figured it out eventually as the bandshell there is pretty recognizable. They are wearing their pink and white brocade gowns, and I'm not at all fond of the wig Diana is wearing in the performance. It's too short and tight to her head, almost an Asian look. I was very lucky I decided to save and look through these slides, I can't help but think Aimee had a part in that!
