The Rose Battiste Story
REFLECTIONS

I found this un-dated photograph in a guy's basement in Detroit and have been told by a few of her contemporaries that it's Rose. But she told me it isn't. If that's the case; Who is it?"

After such a frustrating career littered with many "if only" experiences, most entertainers would be pulling their hair out, but Rose remains phlegmatic.

When I asked her how she felt about success always proving to be elusive she smiled, shrugged and said, "It just wasn't meant to be and I had such a ball!"

Many thanks to Rose Battiste, Don Davis, Joseph "Kingfish" Stribling, George McGregor and Don Mancha for generously giving me their time to patiently answer my esoteric questions.

Notes thanks to Graham Finch
