Hi Mel,
Alot of people I knew of Chi that we're in the know had the Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes'"What Can A Man Do" on the Arctic label, myself included. You brought back my memory to me. You don't mind me asking Mel do you know the flip-side the B side?

Great stuff Mel!!
The girl on the far left is Nadine "Honey" Felder, sister of Allan Felder and the girl to her left is Gwen, the wife of Fred Wesley!

BTW, Barry glazer of the Temptones and co writer of Girl I Love You owns a photo shop not far from where I live and Paul Fogel is achiropractor.

Mel, do you own every Arctic release, mate??

Hello Submarine, Phillybusters!

Hey, harold MELvin AND THEN blue notes,
Very charismatic labels and picks, friend!
These are authentic museum pieces.
In the pick of The Volcanos I only can recognize Earl Young (at the center). I don't knows if there are some other (after) Trammps members.
Also until now i believed Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes only recorded for Harton, Value and Josie records in the sixties.

Thanks for sharing those great stuff with all of us.

Peace & Soul Food!

I'am kind of curious myself. I had to come back to this thread. The Valcanos' "(It's Against) The Laws Of Love", wasn't it written by Carl Fisher lead vocalist for The Vibrations? Honey & The Bees' "Why Do You Hurt The One Who Loves You" single looks quite also filmiliar to me, I may have had it once in my record collection once?

play these at a soul do mel, and the dancefloor would never empty what a atmosphere these would produce, the introduction of 'laws of love'is just breathtaking, and with the funks backing them on 'ladys man' soul satisfaction is guaranteed, any info on the Volcanoes sessions would be great

Mel,

If you need this one for your Arctic collection, I have a WLP that I'm willing to swap:

Honey & the Bees "Love Addict"/"I'll Be There"

Give me a shout off-list if interested. Still enjoying the scans--any chance of a scan of the great Gene Woodbury on Del-Val? Thanks in advance. :-)

Best,

Mel (or anyone else)

Was the Sherrys record first issued on JJ or Hot? Is Little Joe Cook's "I'm Falling In Love With You Baby" the flip side?

Thanks.

This was why pete/myself heard the Bill Lucas

pete pushed the bill lucas from that day.

Hey Mel,

Would that be The Butlers with Frankie Beverly on that Jean Wells/Charles Earland cut???

As usual, great scans! And Phil, I sure loved those Continental Four!

You all are bringing back some memories in these last newer pics. The record shop I use to work for kept all these sides, I remember having all of them at one time. Thanks for sharing your pics and bringing back the memories, again I say thanks.
