Nice scan - haven't seen that before.

I don't have the issue but if it's the guy
I'm thinking (aka Mr. Wiggles) there was a
feature on him in an issue of "Juke Blues"
about a year ago - wish I'd bought it when I
saw it.

Try e-mailing them at Juke@jukeblues.com
- they may still have copies.

Don't be misled by the magazine's title -
recent issues have had fantastic stories on
people like Freddie Hughes, Maxine Brown,
Sammy Taylor,Willie Walker, forties' Chicago singer Lil Green - and that's just one issue.

I've managed to pick up some recent issues from
Borders so if you're like me and never get round to subscribing to magazines and live near a
branch of Borders asked them to get it for you.
They've also started stocking "In The Basement"
so hopefully more people will become aware of these two excellent mags.

Should've mentioned he's from Virginia - and the Doris Allen in the writer credits is almost
certainly the one who did ace deepie "Shell of
a Woman" on Minaret.

Davie - listening to the Hesitations :-)

Mel,

Larry Washington of MFSB is originally from Richmond and played for 'MR Wiggles' featuring James Brown( different person)on Sound of Soul.
When I first met him in '68, he showed me the record.

I'm confused, Mel--what do you mean, all 45s cut by this guy? Did Dickie Wonder have more than one single?

Best,

Mark
