White House Biography of President William J. Clinton " He excelled as a student and as a saxophone player and once considered becoming a professional musician." http://www.whitehouse.gov/hist ory/presidents/bc42.html Get well soon President Clinton! (my man!) Arcadia, always ________________________________________________________ Ex-president Clinton to undergo emergency open heart surgery ALEX MASSIE IN NEW YORK FORMER US president Bill Clinton is to undergo open heart surgery in New York after tests revealed he had a "significant blockage" in at least one of his blood vessels. Doctors found the problem after Mr Clinton complained of chest pains and shortness of breath. Friends said the two-term presidents condition was sufficiently serious that the 58-year-old might have to undergo a quadruple heart bypass operation. Mr Clintons wife, New York Senator Hillary Clinton, and daughter Chelsea, were travelling to be by his side, a spokesman for Mr Clinton confirmed yesterday. The former First Lady said her husband told her that he "felt fine and not to worry". According to one report, Mr Clinton suffered a heart attack, although an official said he did not think the ex-president had had a heart attack. Mr Clinton's mother-in-law, Dorothy Rodham, said the former president had called her after he had seen his doctors but that he was in fine spirits. "He sounded wonderful as usual and very upbeat as he always is," she said. "I just told him how much I love him." President George W Bush, who was campaigning in Wisconsin, told a rally that Mr Clinton "is in our thoughts and prayers" and he wished the former president a "swift and speedy recovery." Mr Clinton had been planning to attend the New York State Fair yesterday with his wife Hillary but that plan was abruptly cancelled when Mr Clinton reported having chest pains. A statement released by the Clintons office said the ex-president "went to Northern Westchester Hospital yesterday afternoon after experiencing mild chest pain and shortness of breath". It added: "Initial testing was normal and he spent the night at home in nearby Chappaqua in New York. After undergoing additional testing this morning at Westchester Medical Center, doctors advised him he should undergo bypass surgery." http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/international.cfm?id=1041012004 (Message edited by Arcadia on September 03, 2004) |

For all intents and purposes and on the real tip, Bill Clinton was our first Black President!! BTW.. I had heart bybass surgery AND a valve repair in July of 2002, and its not as bad as it sounds and it is very commonplace these days and a great preventative for future problems. I was back in the studio exactly three weeks from the day of my surgery. |

Wow, learning alot about the SDF. P.S. as I am typing this, I just heard Hillary say on tv that he's in good humor and beating them at card games and all the games they are playing. |
