Ok PIR gents. We have already established that their are 2 to 3 Bluenotes sets and IMO Harold Melvin's Bluenotes with Sharon Paige are the best. It was also stated that line-up during the PIR years did not sing the backgrounds on the recordings. Besides Bernie Wilson, Teddy, and Harold who were the other 2 members? Beside G&H wanting to take Teddy solo, why did Harold leave PIR? And did Harold fire Bernie and the 2 guys when he left being it was "Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes? And who owns the rights to the name now? |

The other two Bluenotes were Lawrence"Pop Pop" Brown and Lloyd Parks. Teddy couldnt take any of Harold's B.S. and controlling ways anymore and when the solo deal was offeder to teddy, he jumped at the chance. Harold left so he could get paid for his efforts. Harold's wife Ovelia owns thw rights to the name. |

So basically Bernie and the other guys should not be using the name..Did he fire Brown, Bernie, and Parks after Teddy split or did they go with him.. |

Bernie went with him for a minute but later left to form his own "Bluenotes" BTW..Bernie, Larry Lloyd and John Atkins were originally part of a local group called the Chordsteppers, who used to rehearse at my house back in the day. They were discovered there by Harold who was next door at the time with the first Bluenotes drummer who lived there. John Atkins was in the new Bluenotes lineup at first but left to move to Florida where he recently passed. |

Hello Submarine! I remember that the only Blue Notes member of the PIR years line-up who also appears in the next line up at ABC new deal albums is (appart from Harold and guest appearences of Sharon) Jerry Cummings. Also it seems to me in the PIR years in the recordings was the real voices of Harold, Teddy and Sharon (at minimum). In "Reaching For The World", that was recorded at Sigma, were also utilised some other session singers different to the Bluenotes of the pick of the back cover (in addition to the original voices by Harold, David Ebo and Sharon)? TC and Manny, G&H and bell, and Bunny Sigler sang most of the Bluenotes backing vocals. |
