Tony B, I'was only aware of the blue designer label, the red and a few light blue sides I had at one time.

Tony, are you sure. Maybe your thinking about GWR pressed labels?

Tony

I've got just two - and can't remember seeing any others:

Ric-Tic 103: Agent Double-0-Soul
Ric-Tic 104: Hungry For Love

The Edwin Starr 45 was re-pressed with a slightly different spelling:
Agent 00-Soul (Agent Double-0-Soul).

Hungry For Love was on red, as well as yellow.

Right Grahame. Those are the only two I've seen, also. Can you confirm this, Ron (as you had access in the past to virtually the whole catalogue)?

Wow! Now I do find that interesting. If there are only 2 known Ric-Tic sides, then I have no choice but to believe it. Are you guys sure they're not demo's?

Hi Don

I've only seen Edwin's hit on yellow Ric-Tic, apart from white-label promos... but some have red writing, not black.

yes at one time I had about 80,000 GW's when I was buying & selling and Ric-Tic 103 and 104 were pressed on both yellow and red labels and the yellow ones had both black and red print.

now believe it or not these were also booted by someone which was funny because there were so many originals available at the time, the boots were only yellow w/black print and did not use a photo of the original label like most boots do ,these labels were re-typeset to look similar and they are not Columbia pressings even having the ztsc matrix number, these are compression molded where the label is pressed into the record, Columbia's pressings used a injection mold system and the label is glued on after the record is made.

Yes, Ron- and thanks. I filled out the few Wingate label records I needed, by buying them from you for $2, $3 and $5, back in the old days. (Very reasonable prices for such rarities). I still have your sales list. I have them both on yellow and red. I have some bright orange Ric Tics, too.

I found a Jamaican press (in Tokyo!) of Al Kent's 'You gotta pay the price' 45 last week. Label is white with the logo name within the swirl on the left, and a Times Roman font for the credits. Needless to say the vinyl used isn't exactly the best! :-)
I know about all the Canadian releases, but are there any other Jamiacan ones?

the first 3 releases #100 (Gino Washington) and 101 & 102 (both by Freddy Gorman) had light blue labels.
