Hi this is Kev-Lo yes here goes another rare soul artist we don't talk about.Well this soulful artist took us by storm and made the ladies hearts melt with his late 1967 hit BABY BABY PLEASE which was a New York and New Jersey soul hit that was big on the soul charts.Timothy Wilson also made other cuts called QUEEN OF HEARTS,I WANNA NO RIGHT NOW,SAY IT AGAIN,AND OH HOW I WISH SHE WERE MINE.I got to see timothy at the APOLLO THEATHER here in New York several years ago and he still had it.Timothy Wilson definitely a 60's soul pioneer.

Let's not forget the great stuff he did prior to his Buddah period:

"Hey Girl Do You Love Me" on Veep--what a fantastic record!

I have his other single on Veep, a remake of "He Will Break Your Heart", which I haven't had a chance to play.

Also, his early '70s single on Sky Disc, "I Must Love You", is fantastic as well!

Timothy also was a member of the Serenaders, which also featured prolific producer/arranger George Kerr and Sidney Barnes as well.

Best,

Mark

Let's not forget what he did before Veep, as lead singer of The Serenaders on Chock-Full-of-Hits, Riverside, VIP and the cuts recorded for Motown which never got released (such as: "Tears, Nobody and A Smile" which I'm still waiting to be released on CD.) Too bad we couldn't have a project of "Really obscure Motown Unreleased Recordings, including The Serenaders, Parliaments, Creations, Fascinators, Majestics, Andre Williams, Raynoma Gordy, Oma Heard, Patrice Holloway, Hal Davis, Mickey McCullers, etc., etc.

Also, - wasn't he with a male group on Ember records between his Tiny Tim & The Hits and Serenaders stints? Maybe Nikki can help us with this question.

It wasn't The Five Satins, or The Silhouettes. But I remember seeing his name on several of the group's records. And, I think I remember reading that he was in a group during that period(late 1950s).

The only groups I am familiar with that Timothy Wilson sang with are Tiny Tim and the Hits, and the Serenaders on Chock Full of Hits (as stated above). He also sings now with the current TEENAGERS group, which includes 2 original Teenagers (the only surviving members of Frankie Lymon's 50's group), Herman Santiago & Jimmy Merchant, and also with Bobby Jay (who sang with the Laddins) on bass. Timothy does the lead, and a great job of it too! They are performing on the circuit today all over the country. So if get a chance to see them, you won't be disappointed. He still has a wonderful voice.

He is a wonderful singaer with a marvelous original style.

I saw him several months ago at the Kimmel center with the teenagers and they tore the place up.

I just seen Tim and spoke with him back-stage before showtime about two weeks ago at Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Timothy does a remarkable job as lead singer for The Legendary Teenagers singing Frankie Lymon's recordings. Tim still recieves lots of air play on his original solo material recorings on Northern Soul in the UK. Tim's solo cd can be purchased in Europe. I once seen it advertised on Dustry Groove.com on line located in Chicago. Tim got so excited when I informed him about his material was released on cd, popular and played very regular in Europe. So he would know for sure it was not a bootleg cd, as a gift to a good friend, I gave him my cd copy recording on him sent to me from Europe. Timothy was "S-H-O-C-K" to know his vinyl album was released on cd. Tim recently told me told me his cd can now be purchased at Val Shively's in Upper Darby, Pa. Many people are not aware Tim recorded for Motown and many other major name recording companies.
