This is a fantastic article by Susan Whitall about Anita Baker's triumphant comeback. Sue - Thank you for the article. Very informative. It was nice reading Anita's own perspective on things. |

Sue: Great article on Anita. I look forward to picking up her CD. BTW - The Westbury Music Fair is not in Conneticut - it is located in Wantaugh (Long Island), New York. I was there for her gig. Kevin Goins - KevGo |

Kevin -- Thanks. Sis -- get down with your bad self ... Yes, Westbury is in Long Island -- I had it that way in the print version of the story. This'll give you a fascinating (not!) look into the way newspapers and their websites sometimes work. I realized after giving my story to the desk (copy editors) that I had put Westbury in Connecticut instead of Long Island ..so I had a copy editor correct that before he shot the page. Problem is, our impatient webmasters often take the first version of the story that "appears" in the computer system once the writer lets it go, before the copy editors have had a go at it. Thus any corrections/changes we make in the copy editing process are often not done on the web page, unless someone (has to be the writer)doublechecks the web version. Until you called it to my attention I didn't realize the web didn't get that vital change. I'll email them about it right away...the Web versions often don't have the same art either. Sometimes it's better, sometimes, as in this case, it's worse ... |

Another "Superb" article Sue! - with the Young Lady ANITA - far better to read over breakfast here in England than the morning newspaper! Many Thanks! John |

Anita Baker was interviewed extensively on Fox2. She said presently her favorite CD is Fantasia. She said she keeps Fantasia in the player. "That little girl just picks me right up." |

Anita said the reason she picked the Fox to talk to us -- because that's where she first saw the Motortown Revue. She spoke about seeing Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, etc. with great reverence. When I mentioned the Tempts she said "David Ruffin! Oh!" When she saw the episode of Ed Sullivan with the Tempts and Supremes, she said afterward, mock-seriously, "I was a different person." |

All of us were different at that time, as was the Tempts and Supremes. |

Great story! Anita looks wonderful on the cover of her new CD. I am very ready to finally hear new music from her. I've already heard "My Everything" on the radio and cable music channels over a month now, and she hasn't lost her signature voice one bit! The song is outstanding! This will be a very refreshing change for us music lovers all over the U.S. since we are tired of the same, recycled, rehashed "hits" from other "artists" we've been listening to since her last album in 1994. First Norah Jones, now Anita! A winning combination/formula that has proven true time and time again. |
