I was diggin' in the crates...ooops...hard drive, revisiting some "old friends" and a couple of things hit me hard, hard, hard. (At least one, in particular !) I mean...I hear things a little deeper now, and I was wondering:

(1) Is that Dennis Coffey on The Temptations "Plastic Man" ??? Damn !! I played it back several times...shaking my head. The licks and the effects...incredible. That was 10 pounds of FUNK in a 5 pound bag !

(2) My "new" favorite song (great lyrics and killer groove)is "I've Been Blessed" by Levi. I'm totally unfamiliar with this song & wondered how he came to record anything SOLO ? I was under the impression that everything he'd ever done was with the Four Tops.

Mr. Levi recorded "Mean Green Mother From Outer Space" when he performed a voiceover for the movie "Little Shop of Horrors." It is included in the 1986 movie soundtrack.

I wonder who came up with the brilliant idea for Stubbs to perform the voice for that giant plant. That is casting at its best.
