Mr. Eli This question is for you. I heard some similarities in the Ill Be Around and Sadie sessions, I was wondering if you did play on the Sadie session. I will greatly appreciate your answer. T.L. Harris |

TL, I played on both records. They were done several years apart. On I'll be around Earl Young and Ronnie Baker , Norman Harris and myself were the drummer , bassist and guitarists respectively, while on Sadie the drummer, bassist, and guitarists, were Andrew Smith, Bob Babbitt, Tony bell and myself, respectively. I'll be around was recorded at Sigma Sound studio one on 12th street, while Sadie was recorded in Sigma Sound studio four which was ten blocks away at the PIR building. The only similarity was that they were both produced by Thom Bell. |

Philly had a lot more studios than most people know. The ones I'm aware of are: SIGMA SOUND ALPHA INTERNATIONAL QUEEN VILLAGE KAJEM VIRTUE 919 SOUND CAMEO-PARKWAY ROBINSON RECORDING LABS GOTHAM RECO-ART SOUND PLUS BTW, The first Jerry Butler sessions with Gamble & Huff for Mercury were not done in Philly. Their first session together for "Lost" was cut at Bell Sound in NYC on September 7, 1967. "Never Give You Up" and "Hey, Western Union Man" were cut at Cameo-Parkway. Sigma Sound did not open until August of '68. |
