Greetings All,

I have been trying to figure this one out for a few. For instance - let's take the O'Jays "Ship Ahoy" album. I couldn't decide even when it was out - which song was my favorite. LOL!

And this question goes for other Landmark and Classic albums - like Stevie's (Multiple ones) & Marvin's "What's Going On." And MJ's "Thriller." And Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes "Wake Up Everybody" and many more.

Which one song off of these albums and others is your favorite cut - you think? LOL!

Hello Submarine!

Hey, Let's Go-Go-Go-Girl, What's Go-Go-Going On? (Smile!)

Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On" LP: the same title

Stevie Wonder's "Talking Book": "You're The Sunshine Of My Life"

Stevie Wonder's "Hotter Than July: "Master Blaster" or "All I Do"? (what dilema!!)

Marvin Gaye's "In Our Lifetime": "Heavy Love Affair"

Harold Melvin & The Blue Note's "Wake Up Everybody": I can't select one track of this very good album without desperdice. Perhaps the most "spiritual" and sexy is Sharon Page's solo "I'm Searching For A Love".

Jackson's "Going Places": "Man Of War"

O'Jays "Ship Ahoy": "Don't Call Me Brother"

O'Jays "Backstabbers": "992 Argumments"

Sly & The Family Stone's "There's A Riot Goin' On": "Space Cowboy"

Temptation's "All Directions": "Papa Was A Rolling Stone"

Four Top's "Keeper Of The Castle": "Love Makes You Humain"

Dramatic's "Drama V": "Drama V / Treat Me Like A Man"

Mighty Clouds Of Joy's "Truth Is The Power": "Music Is My Way Of Life"

Curtis Mayfield's "Never Say You Can't Survive": "Sparkle"

Trammp's "Where The Happy People Go": "Ninety Nine And Half"

MFSB's "Philadelphia Freedom": "Tears In The Morning"

Angelo Bond's "Bondage": "Goodbye My Love"

Jerry Butler & Brenda Lee Eager's "The Love We Have / Had": "Lean On Me"

Lou Rawl's "A Natural Man": "Oh What A Wonderful Morning"

O.V, Wright's "We're Still Together": "I'm Gonna Stay"

Teddy Pendergras's untitled first album: "You Can't Hide from Yourself"

I'll back later with some more.
Peace & Soul Food!

All,

You all have named some wonderful ones. I am proud of you.

Lady M - you are my kinda fan when mentioning my homeboy Eddie Kendrick. I love the entire album w/"Trust Your Heart" on it. My God - my homey turned it out on that album. He seemed to sing so effortless then.

One of my favorite from Marvin's "What's Going On" album has to be the title cut. I also love "What's Happening Brother."

On the Temptations' "Live" album - my all time favorite cut is "Don't Look Back." Paul was going for it - for real.

I forgot the album title - but I loved Melvin's "I Truly - Truly Believe." It just might be my fave off that album - indeed and surprisingly.

Hey All,

My - My - you all have done it up and good. I know some of y'all had to look at the album cover to name all of those songs. Congrats Manny - you win. LOL!

Whatever the name of the album is by Diana w/"ANMHE" - on it. LOL! Curtis's "ITIHB_WAAGG" - it would have to be "Miss Black America" - unless "We're A Winner" is also on that tip. I can't remember the album titles - but I remember some songs by these artists. I see I'm going to have to pull out my stash of albums and see which album title went w/what song and by this or that artist(s). LOL!

All,

SDF - I'm doing great. Thanks for asking. Of course I know you have a great memory - and you're handsome too. LOL!

I believe you Manny. I know everyone has me beat on remembering music period. My memory ain't what it used to be. Kudos to you all for knowing your musical history. And you've got me beat. LOL!

I'm probably only one of a few that would have to look at the album covers to remember what title went with what cut - and for the most part. I remember many - but not plenty. LOL!

As far as album cuts nevr put on a single, "Honey Boy" by Mary Wells, off her "Vintage Stock" album, comes to mind. Also, "He Don't Care About Me", by The Miracles off "Meet The Miracles" (or was it another early Miracles album (I'm also not with my albums right now). Also, off my "own" album -"From The Vaults", "Cry" by The Monitors (Nee, Majestics).
