Read it today -bio--and it is excellent-objective and infromative--fascinating to read about conflict with En V, Anita and Aretha.

PS-the book talks about Luther having driven car where the young guy he was producing was hurt and the guy's brother was killed-never knew about this.

I didn't find this book to be excellent, informative or objective. It was more like mediocore, contrived and full of innuendo.

It read more like a JET magazine article.

Just my opinion...

I remember the car crash. Luther was producing a young singer named Jimmy Salvemini, a Star Search winner. Luther was driving Jimmy and his brother when there was an accident and Jimmy's brother was killed. I don't remember all of the details, it was some years ago. Luther tracked the LP at Universal Recording in Chicago.

I actually have a promo copy of the album. I didn't think it was that great. There were a few good moments on it, but I don't think the kids voice was that great. He did a remake of Irene Caras Anyone Can See and a duet with Phoebe Snow which was totally mis-matched. Phoebe sang circles around him on Wether or Not The World Gets Better (which luther later did on his Secret Love cd).
