At The Top Of The Stairs and Sally Saying Something are two Philly records that really bring back memories for me.
Are you on these records, can you list the personel?
I recently got a good clean stereo CD version of Top Of The Stairs, still looking for Sally on CD.
Why weren't these two great records hits? There certainly have the sound! Sally didn't even hit the top 100.

Hi Gary,
Im on "stairs"but not Sally.

The personnel on 'stairs " were: Karl Chambers drums,Win Wilford, bass,Roland Chambers and myself gutars, Huff piano, Vince vibes.
At the time Huff was technically still with madara/White but also writing with Kenny.
Keny soon had to buy out Huff's contract from M/W.

Incidentally, Buddy Turner of the Formations was just here yeaterday.
He's producing an act of ours.

Bobby - I am in shock. I did not realise you played on The Formations single. If you have ever mentioned it to me in the past, I apologise. I do not remember us talking about who was on the session apart from the wonderful Chamber brothers. I already knew Vince was on the vibes and Richard Rome did the strings. I know we spoke about where it was recorded, last year.

Next time you see Buddy Turner, ask him what was the 'B' side to 'At the top of the Stairs' was and don't prompt him! When you see him struggle, just mention that the question came from someone in London and his eyes will glaze over as he realises who it is - he he! I remember asking him the question in 1999 whilst we chatted in the Sigma reception of all places. It was fun then too!! Presumably, you played on the 'B' side??
