Bobby It was issued in the CD era - 1987 - on "The Never Before Released masters". It's a great CD and well worth having if you can find a copy. |

I saw it among the master tapes in the early 1970s. If I remember correctly, it was recorded in late 1963. There was also an acetate of it, which I believe was later auctioned off to a collector. (Message edited by Robb_K on August 15, 2004) |

Hi. Mr. Eli, I have it, and they also re-released on a Motown Legends cd. Don't know if it's still in stock. Handsome |

It was written and produced by Smokey Robinson. On a lot of his early work with the girls, he made good use of their harmonies, as with this song. |

Are you sure Mr. Blues was Smokey produced? I thought it was Ron Miller who wrote it. I remem- ber it on the CD in the late 80s. Can't check writer/producer credits right now. |

I don't have the cd in front of me, but I think it was produced by Smokey. As I wrote earlier, he tended to make great use of their harmonies on his compositions with them, such as MR. BLUES, OOOWEE BABY, and LONG GONE LOVER. Ron Miller wrote more "pop" or standard-oriented things for them like FANCY PASSES and LITTLE MISS LOSER. |
