Yeah, I just picked this one up -- Luther - The Life and Longing of Luther Vandross. I've not gotten too far into it, but several friends have and said it's a good read, albeit a little bit tabloidish. |

Linda Di, Thanks for the information on the Luther book. I will definitly have to buy a copy. There is so much that I don't know about Luther. He has always been guarded about his personal life. |

Thanks for the info Linda. I didn't know about it until I stumbled upon the info while surfing. I guess I'll be checking this one out. Do they speak about his sister Patricia & her singing career?? |

They briefly speak about his sister's singing career. She was a member of the group THE CRESTS, I believe. But she left the group before they recorded their big hit "16 CANDLES". The Luther book is a very good read. A lot of the info concerning the beginnings of his career was of interest to me, since I knew very little about that. The rest of the book covered familiar territory, but was still worth revisiting. |

The author treats Luther's life with a great deal of respect. Obviously, there is discussion of his sexuality, but it's neither confirmed or denied -- which is how Luther himself always handled it. Lots of interesting stuff here for Luther fans. I know that we all continue to lift him in prayer ... what a gift he has! |

Hi Linda, I'm glad to hear that it's not a scandalous book. Thanks for the review. I must check Barnes & Noble to see if they have it in stock. Yes, we do still pray for a full recovery for Luther. Though I'd love to hear him sing again, I'd be happy just to know that he can take care of himself. If he can walk & talk, that will be sufficient for me. That's the most important thing!! |

Yeah Juice -- just to know he's doing better would make me happy. I can't even imagine what he's going through so I just pray that he gets to a place where he's glad he's alive and thriving. |
