While reading a history of Detroit I came across the name Erotius Hastings. Mr. Hastings formed the first anti-slavery society in Detroit. It seems logical that this is the man for whom Detroit's famous Hastings street was named after. The street was a focal part for the African-American community and had several jazz, blues and r&b clubs. A yahoo search turned up nothing on Erotius and I was wondering if forum memebrs had any more information on this important historical figure? |

SBS, assumption in sentence 2 is correct. I will check my Detroit books tonight to see if there is any detail on him. |
