Ok I know most of you know this, but I have to post this. Ron Isley with out question is one of the baddest balladeers still with us, and he can funk and rock too. He is definetly one of my favorites. Let's pray for 'The Isley Brother'. ------------------------------ -------------------- EUR newsbits: RONALD ISLEY SUFFERS STROKE: Mr. Biggs stricken in London. Ronald Isley(Aug. 4, 2004) *A source at Def Jam Records has confirmed that Ronald Isley suffered what is being described as a minor stroke Friday in London. The 63-year-old veteran of the sibling group, the Isley Bros., was in the U.K. for a show when he became ill while walking down a London street with his wife. The Cincinnati-born singer was hospitalized at a medical facility in the city. Upon hearing the news, Isleys ex-wife, singer Angela Winbush, caught a flight to London to be by his side. Calls to Isleys assistant were not immediately returned. AND A UPDATE: EUR Newsbits: RONALD ISLEY UPDATE Soul veteran said to be on the mend. *Ronald Isley is said to be improving after suffering a minor stroke Friday in London. "He is doing well," confirms Elyse Murray, Vice President of Pyramid Entertainment Group and responsible agent to the Isley Bros. and Ronald Isley. "He has no brain damage, he's doing very well. As reported yesterday, the singer, 63, became ill Friday while walking down a London street. However, his companion at the time of his illness was not his wife, as previously reported. Murray also says that broadcast reports of Isley having a heart-attack are not true. "He had a minor stroke and that's all it was," she said yesterday. He's doing well and on his way to a speedy recovery. The doctors said with rest, he's going to be fine in a matter of weeks." |
