Hi, friends Karim and Mr. "Electronic"

My searcher (Google) says that funkadelphiarecords.com is under construction.
You know if the contents is about artsist as Force Of Nature or People's Choice or more "obscure"?

Thanks in advance

Hey Charise!!
Ya know what, I sometimes feel like Forrest Gump.
In fact, the guys in Flaming Ember call me Forrest Funk!!
Man, to be a relatively young(ish) dude, I have done quite a lot of things and met TONS of people over the years, a virtual who's who of the music industry.
I really have a hard time believing that I was there during some of the most pivotal moments in music history.
I only wish that I had pictures of ALL of the folks I have met and rubbed shoulders with including MLK and Malcolm X!

Anyway, enough rambling for now.

Eli, sometimes I wished I had been born in the 50's and lived in Detroit, Chicago or Philly, because I would've been doing just what you did, trying to rub elbows with everybody and anybody. That is what I meant about you being around. I became familiar with you more so from MFSB and other groups, but never knew about all these other stories. You got me with MLK & Malcolm though, now that is definitely HISTORY RIGHT there. MLK died on my 3rd birthday!!! See , I get a lot music history right from here and I love it, right from the SOURCE!!!!!!!!!!!:-):-)

Its my pleasure, Charise.

In Philly in the mid to late sixties, they used to have the "Freedom Shows" at Conveention Hall, and on these shows there would be a cornucopia of soul and r&b acts as well as keynote speakers.

One one of these shows in the autum of 1967,
I happened to be there playing with Patti Labelle and Len barry and MLK was the keynote speaker and I had the esteemed pleasure of meeting him and shaking his hand.
I only wish that there would have been a camera available.

Also appearing on this show among others were James Brown, Sam and Dave, Otis Redding, the Four Tops, Freddie Scott, Erma Franklin, the Ambassadors and a new group called the Temptones featuring a young Daryl Hall.

I met Malcolm X in NYC at a rally in 1965, sadly not long before he died.
